Cutting was always a favorite of mine within the process

awesome! i used to play with our shears, they had like 10 of them. mostly printing for kimberly-clark like tissue boxes and cereal boxes. cool stuff

At one point we had two of these things and we were cutting 12 hours a day on both. Pandemic killed that part of the business, but our remaining one is a nice reliable option for cutting.

The first five sheets that it printed were for front and back alignment right? Is this a setting in the machine that we can turn on? We have a Ricoh pro c9210

Normally, I just print one to check front/back registration and make an adjustment if need be. Once it looks good, then I run the entire order. You can do a front/back registration calibration in the paper library directly on the press. Just to into the settings for the paper and near the bottom there is an option.

Thank you Mike for this demonstrative and instructive video. What's your advice when it comes to invest in a production press? I like the Konica Minolta AccurioPress but Heidelberg Versafire seems to have better quality and versatility.
@miketheprintman2 жыл бұрын
Hi G.B. thanks for the comment. It's kind of a loaded question on purchasing a new digital press. Depends on what model Accurio you're looking at too. The top of the c14000 Accurio is basically the same type of machine as the Versafire EP or Ricoh c9200. It's fast and has similar capabilities. The cheaper Accurio presses cost less, but can't handle the same paper weights or have the same output speeds. Also, in my opinion, service is a big factor. I have had great service from the Heidelberg/Ricoh team over the years and can't complain. Lastly comparing samples of the Accurio and Ricoh/Heidelberg models, the printing looks flatter and more like offset on the Ricoh machines than the KM machines. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help.

@@miketheprintman I have a small printshop and my printing volume per month is not really that high (
@miketheprintman2 жыл бұрын
@@pondorbox Yeah, sounds like with your volume a KM entry level machine would be better. Those are typically cheaper to own and operate and the maintenance on them is not too much. I love my Ricoh/Heidelberg machines, but they are priced a tier higher.

Good morning, I am using a Polar 76 guillotine, but I cannot cut less than 10 cm, I also remove the piece from the clamp, but the maximum I can cut is 10 cm and it does not advance.

Unfortunately there is a minimum distance on these cutters. My advice is to make a shim to insert behind the block of paper. Typically I just tape up a bunch of paper to the same height as the stack I'm cutting. Won't be 100% perfect, but should get you close to where you need to be.

Mike, did you run any other colour digital presses before the Heidelberg?
@miketheprintman2 жыл бұрын
Hi James, thanks for subscribing. Yes, I've actually run Konic Minolta, Canon, Xerox and Sharpe machines in the past as well. Also, don't forget that the Heidelberg is basically just a rebranded Ricoh c9200. I've run several models of Ricoh machines as well. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Happy to help.
