At 10:50 you say, 'do what nobody else is willing to do'. I like that advice. There are so many untapped niches out there, and one of the main reasons why they remain untapped is because nobody is willing to go near them. For example, I like to make videos and podcasts about the possibility that dinosaurs never existed. My subscription website attracts people who are interested in reexamining what they have been led to believe about dinosaurs (and related topics such as evolution, asteroids, etc). A lot of people would be too afraid to publicly challenge the 'experts' on dinosaurs, but I'm not afraid, I'm happy to go camera and share my opinions, and so now I am the world's leading dinoskeptic, and I make money as a result. Just one example which speaks to an important you made in this video. Thanks.

Thanks Andrew for the wonderful stories. If someone is not out ideal client we like to say "Send this guy off to China to work in the rice paddies with Meyiling for the rest of his life."

@NomadCapitalist 2:33 Let's open a company just to clean my pool. Totally true for all startup business ideas.

First wow, so insightful. Second, I wonder what is Andrews mbti type? He seems like an INTJ. Third, totally agree on the time and money aspect. I was in real estate. Had a tenant that was paying a rental rate from 30+ years ago. I nudged the rate up a little, but he was paying 25-40% of the fmv rent. I made good money in the industry, but the amount of time I spent on some massive time consuming tenants far outpaced everyone else, I had to spend time on.

The biggest racquet in pool servicing is keeping the pool topped up. Otherwise it cannot keep cleaning itself.

Answering the phone is my number one money maker to the tune of millions of dollars. I actually have a process for showing new employees why it matters. It's called an answering service and if they miss the call they learn what they missed and then they get it or I let them go.

Could you cross sell and, if not interested in getting involved with plumbing, electrical, maintenance work, you could at least earn the lead generation fee on these activities.

I'm not in the industry of Nomad Capitalist but I have some ideas that will take your business to the next level. Let me know if you would like to discuss more details.

My experience with the US is incompetence at every level and the fact you are paying a premium. It’s no longer viable but we already knew that. So if you are competent and reliable you have a good shot. Because 90% of Americans are not. I stopped using Southwest (when I’m in the US) due to gross incompetence. This is an exemplar of bad service and endemic of attitudes of US people who think they have a right to not work and the government will take care of them. They don’t value their job and have no pride in the work they do. The boring jobs and the unsexy jobs do pay well-Steve Jobs, Bill Gates-so much so that they appear sexy after the fact. The recurring theme I see in your videos is people from the US are targeting wealth and success. Well, they obviously have not seen life outside of the US. Money talks-or more accurately money gets things done. This has never not been a fact in the history of man. To think that socialism or communism or anybody outside of yourself will solve your problems and provide a better life is misguided, wrongful thinking. Whatever happens with the US we can say it will be ugly and expensive.

I don't understand why you are saying that the pool business is unsexy. In all the movies that I have watched, the pool boys get to have a lot of fun.
