So i bought a stock at .30 cents. can i use this formula when calculating potential profit? say i bought 47.50 (50$ minus fee) worth of stock @.30. If the price goes to $5 what do i do to find the potential total value? can i just find the percentage change and multiply by 47.50?

What if the change is a decrease? Do you express as a negative?

Yea if it comes decreased value, then it's a negative percent
