Former Ugandan Ambassador to Japan, James Baba, has urged the Ugandan business community to seize the opportunities presented by Japan's $13 trillion market. Despite being introduced to this market a few years ago, Ugandans have struggled to fully capitalize on it due to challenges such as meeting product standards and volume requirements, particularly in agriculture.Japan, which imports 80% of its food, presents a significant opportunity for Uganda, an agriculturally rich nation. Currently, Uganda exports coffee to Japan, while it imports vehicles, machinery, and chemical products valued at $100 million annually.
