The name of the community is Porus. It was a bustling town but the Highway really did mess up the business. The older people need sell the business and business revamped. They can offer business that will attract people. Innovation is key right now.

There is a toll for the Edward Seaga highway, but Faith's Pen food stop is still dead. There is no guarantee that the traffic will return business to Porus when they start collecting tolls to use the highway. People tiad of the winding roads and traffic through Porus. So when dem si gud road dem ago pay to drive on it.

They still won't drive there. I wouldn't when the toll gets me to the other point faster. Only monetizing the toll can change that significantly.

I hate to act as if I'm a miss know-it-all but look into it deeply where in the world do you know there's a highway without an exit they need to establish exits that people can go to their homes and their business you can't have a straight road that runs from Kingston to St Ann or Montego Bay or anywhere else in Jamaica without exits that leave lead off the people's homes and business.

Old Harbour had the same problem until it normalized. It is stupid to think that you can stop expansion of our road network to facilitate a few businesses. The Bishop should go to church and talk about the Father not economics.

The planning for this section of the highway was terrible! The same thing was done in Clarendon, where May Pen was not provided an exit. Madness! Fortunately, many voices caused a much-needed change. Porus needs an exit, and fast.

The issue is that there are no exits from the highway into towns like Porus; once you get on that highway, you can’t get off until you reach Clarendon and St Catherine.

Leave it at the exit into Porus from the highway, which most people will support as I do. Commuters will not think it feasable to pay for the use of the highway as a measure to drive them into Porus to spend again.

I was in porus 2 wks ago and I barely saw vehicles passing mainly the route taxis. I remember living in porus as an adult to how the road use to buy my dad or step mom would warned me about crossing the streets, now cars are barely passing.

The government need to fix all the roads in that area Spring ground, Berrydale, The roads are very bad in all the communities and the main road from Porus to MayPen . I can’t believe the citizens of this country voting for this type of government that doesn’t care about their citizens. Taxi charging you an arm and leg to take you home. I see them drop marl and pour it in the potholes in Berrydale to Scott’s pass . We need to demonstrate this is sickening to humanity

Jamaicans nuh learn? A nuh last year dem start di highway and this is EXACTLY what happened to Fatihs Pen. The North South Highway opened in about 2016. That was almost a decade ago, and there was a great uproar about what would happen to the vendors at Faiths Pen even before they officially opened. Understand this, with the exception of very few places, when new road cut, mek sure yuh start plan how yuh business ago survive it.
