How rewarding it must feel to watch something go from wasting away in a junkyard to looking almost brand new and moving under its own power again.
@stevenrodriguez76682 жыл бұрын
It's a feeling you want to feel over and over again, the sense of accomplishment and thought of wielding the power of resurrection in your very hands makes you want to do it over and over again, giving these time capsules purpose again .
@thesniperofcs2 жыл бұрын
Also the law that allows you to re-register the vehicle again unlike some countries where you can’t re-register any vehicle after being sold to a junkyard which makes the car titled as parts only even if it’s in good condition or can be rebuilt again 💔

So nice to see an old car brought back to life...and NOT hot-rodded up to the point that its lost its original character.
@GetDougDimmadomed Жыл бұрын
I honestly hate rat rods. I'd rather spend an extra $30,000 bringing a car back to life than take the lazy route and chop it. The only time I love chrome is on vintage cars. One day I'll find another Studebaker semi. There was one at a scrapyard in my town, a tree had crushed the cab. I don't know what happened to it after I saw it, but I think it was set aside either by the workers or the owner of the scrapyard. Even in it's sorry state, it was a beautiful truck. For my own sanity I choose to believe that it was saved.

Rat rods are good if the car was past the ability for a fully restoration however I agree with you when some one takes a rusted but still good cat and chops it.@@GetDougDimmadomed

A few months ago I bought a 1977 Ford LTD Base Model with just under 30,000 miles that looked good on the internet with slightly fuzzy video. It sat in the sun for a few years, and as such after a few rain storms the WD-40 shine got washed away. My main issue is the door and window seals are dry rotted and need to be replaced. It needs a few other things like the chrome trim that wraps around the fenders for example. I cannot find parts for my car anywhere on the internet including those websites that sell parts for classic Fords. Am I screwed, or is there a website that I can go to where I can actually get the parts that I need?
@Icantthinkofaname-qk3fs Жыл бұрын
You can try going to junkyards they have a lot of classics at some of them but don't expect to find the seals since they will likely be rotted away on the junk cars to but the crome you probably could find

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!! (BABBVEN LAWS AND TEBBVEN ORDERS)
@frglee2 жыл бұрын
In the UK the plan is to ban the sale of new internal combustion engines in eight years time (2030) but I see nowhere anything about complete bans after that here - so presumably there will still be plenty of i/c cars, vans and trucks on the roads here into the 2040s. However, we do have strict emissions controls and zones with more ULEV (Ultra low emission vehicle) areas planned, monitored by camera and computer, where only such vehicles may be driven. And punitive road tax for polluting vehicles too.
