Hey Carol ..thanks for this video. I've never used the Ti stitch. It's a beautiful stitch and with your great instructional video, there's no reason not to learn it. Love all your videos. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into making these easy to follow instructions. Much appreciated.

This was so helpful and clear. I also like how professional and neat your finished stitches look and you demonstrated perfectly how to accomplish that. I will watch and practice all your other videos on pine baskets. Thank you so much.

Beautiful work--not just the artwork, but the work of teaching. Thank you very much, I was a teacher so I know how much effort goes into making something like this clear and easy to follow! Just learning about pine needle artwork, using 5" Norway pine needles in Wisconsin, and from my first little tray to my next project of an actual basket, I suspect I'll improve by leaps and bounds--all thanks to your tutorials.

Love doing this stitch but wondering how you start this and go to the next row to make sure I am doing it right. Thank you - you are an excellent teacher!

THANK YOU for your videos. You do fabulous work! I am just getting started with pine needle basketry so your videos have helped me understand the process. Could you do a short video on how you end and start with a new piece of sinew and how you hide the ends please.

this was very helpful i'm gonna try this sometime. your work is very beautiful and i hope to meet your expectations some day. i am new to pine weaving and so it will take me years to master this art. i wish to bring back pine baskets to the southern ute tribe. no one in my tribe does this work anymore, im one of forty out of forty five thousand that is pine weaving.

Wonderful to keep it alive. I recommend videos by Julia Parker Master basket maker Native from Yosemite, California. I forgot what tribe but what a lovely storyteller!

@@7MoonSonoma thank you, I still work on pine baskets from time to time. As of right now I'm just taking a break of everything. Trying to clean up my junk that I accumulated in life, get healthier, and try and stick to one thing in life. Right now my main focus is working bonsai mainly trying to introduce sagebrush to the bonsai world as its often overlooked and ignored. I personally think native american culture has a special place within bonsai. The world just never thought that we wanted to be apart of it.

I was wondering that too! I'm thinking of grabbing a piece of copper pipe and cutting a short length. I know there's a flare tool, but not sure if there's a tool for the opposite for the other end. :)

Please show how you continue to the next row. The more you can show in a sitting, is really appreciated. Please talk about how you wrapped and kept your stitches to the center at 90 degrees. thank you

Is there a book ot that teaches you and demonstrates all the different stitches, It is hard for me because I am left handed but if I had a book with diagrams tha would certainly help me
@bustoc
@bustoc 5 жыл бұрын
Nancy, I'm not aware of any books that teach for left handers, but if you watch the videos in a mirror, it works perfectly for left handers. Sorry for the late response but I don't get notifications that people have left messages.

Carol, How do you splice additional sinew into the Ti stitch?
@bustoc
@bustoc 9 жыл бұрын
Sorry folk for being remiss in my replies. Apparently I am unable to respond using my iPad and I rarely get on the computer any more. So...to quickly reply....now that I've figured out how.....here goes. Ronald....I'm unsure of what you are asking, so cannot respond to your question. Dorothy, you start the Ti stitch from the wrap the same way you do it on other rows....no different. Judi, when you wrap the first row, the stitches just remain vertical. I will try to do another video at some point on transitioning to the next row. If I recall correctly, there is nothing special about that either....you just continue on doing the same thing....you're just on the next row.

Hi Carol, what is the copper guide called, and where can I purchase one? I've tried googling "copper guide basket weaving" but wasn't able to find anything, so I'm guessing this device might have another name.
