Busy Afternoon at Doncaster Railway Station | 25/06/2018

Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. A very warm, beautiful and busy afternoon filming trains at Doncaster railway station on the East Coast Mainline. All done between 3:15pm and 4:45pm on Monday 25th June. Donny is a station where there is always something going on. Also, worth pointing out that this day was also the first weekday of operations for brand new operator ‘London North Eastern Railway’ who token over from ‘Virgin Trains East Coast’ due to them failing to pay the government the promised payment of over three billion pounds. Since the new operator has only began, much of the fleet that was transferred over still holds the Virgin logo but with a couple of units have the new LNER logo on them, even most of the announcements at the station for the East Coast services were spoken out as a Virgin service rather than a LNER service, meaning that the announcement system will need to some adjustments. So, keep your eyes open for the HST at the end with the new logo.
Trains include: Colas Rail 67’s, 800103 ‘Azuma’ on test run from Edinburgh, 2x DB Cargo 66’s, CrossCountry Voyagers, Transpennine Express 185’s, Northern Pacers, 158’s & 322, Hull Trains & Grand Central 180’s and LNER HST’s & 225 sets with DB Cargo 90039 on hire. Plus, a shot of Ex-GWR Power Cars, DB Cargo 67 and DRS 66 stabled in the sidings.
Also included a shot of what it seems to be a Boeing 747 Cargo flying overhead, it was lucky to see it and that my camera was steady enough to capture it good.

JAL retired the 747 in 2012. That's one of Cargolux's 26 747s.

The Virgin concept of Azuma as nipped in its cradle but the class 800/801 or Hitachi super express will traffic the east coast mainline for LNER... Hopefully without a cheesy corporate concept name...
