Catching up on some chores I’ve neglected over the past week while we were at the fair - recipes & links to stuff I mentioned or used in this video below!
The black mats on my bed are grounding mats, we’ve had them for about 6 months and have had a great experience. My husband doesn’t wake up sore every day and my carpal tunnel has been completely relieved, I’m very satisfied with this investment and highly recommend checking into grounding. I’ll link the exact mats I have, there are a lot of low-quality knockoffs, but these are from the original company that pioneered this technology - www.ultimatelo...
Earthly all-purpose salve, I keep one in my diaper bag and have a few throughout the house. This stuff really is great for everything, and very gentle. In fact, I just used it today for a bee sting - earthley.com/p...

Yes, I agree. I like to see recipes in a book where I can just have the pages there in front of me. I prefer rather than scrolling on tablet 😊 I am sure many other's would appreciate this also, considering Steff's cooking and baking is awesome 👌

I really wish I could wake up so early. I’m envious of those able to get to sleep at 10 and wake up for 5:30. My body refuses to wake up before 8 even if I’ve gone to bed early. I used to wake up early and I’d love waking up to listen to the birds before the hustle and bustle of everyday life, get some cleaning done and out of the way before the kids wake up, etc

I’m definitely a morning person. I get up at 4 am every morning to workout and the dogs walked before work. Loving your channel! Newer subscriber here ❤ Do you have hard water? Looks like there’s a film of hard water on your lids after they got done in the canner… I put half a cup of vinegar in the canner when I’m canning and that gets rid of the hard water residue on the lids

With regard to ear infections, when kids are really little their eustachian tubes are not as angled and don’t drain as well as when they get a little bit older and so that allows fluid to accumulate when they get colds sometimes and that can cause your pain. Not sure how garlic can fix that. Not saying it doesn’t, but just not sure how that would work.

Hi! I’m new to canning and have a few questions I hope this don’t sound stupid but 1. Do you pre heat your water in your pressure canner like have it starting to boil while preparing the jars? And 2. I canned tomatoes for the first time and I only have 1 water bath canner and I had to do it in turns and it took forever to get my water to a rolling boil 😔 I feel like there’s a secret lol I have a flat top stove could that be the problem? 3. Is there anything you can that you don’t use the pressure canner or water bath? I had people telling me I could got pack tomatoes and turn them upside down and that would seal them? 4. When you can tomatoes do you add lemon juice? Or salt? I added both and was told they were acidic enough and I didn’t need to but I want to be safe from bacteria and make sure I’m doing it all right… any and all advice appreciated thank you ❤️

I’m fairly new to canning too and my understanding is that whatever the temperature of the contents that’s in your jars is the temperature the water in your canner should be. You risk breaking jars if you put cold jars in a boiling canner or hot jars in a cold canner. Mary’s Nest has excellent canning tutorials. She really breaks everything down and is very easy to follow. Also, look into getting the Ball Canning books (either the Blue Book or the Complete Book of Home Preserving). The Ball books are the gold standard in the canning world. I hope some of this info helped!!

Why did you blanch the beans first?
@HopewellHeights

You can’t have to, but I do it this way, called hot packing, because you can fit more beans into each jar. I’ve done it both ways and have found the extra step to be worth it to reduce wasted space in jars

@@HopewellHeights yay! So glad your garden caught up, gives me hope for mine! 40 tomato plants that are just now flowering, my squash is going nuts, and so much more... I'm going to be busy once everything is ready for harvest! I also have to move beef around in the freezer to make room for the 1/2 hog we bought from one of our 4-H girls. Haha! But it's such a rewarding feeling, doing all we do to help our family live more like the Lord intended in this crazy world. ❤
