YES! You can’t see me clenching my butt cheek, curling my toes & waving my leg in a complex pattern over & over & over until I get it /just right/ & I can finally stop

Also some people with Tourette’s aren’t ticcing all the time. Mine is a pretty mild case, and I can go days without more than a few tics here and there.

Yeah my tics are pretty frequent but are really only constant when I'm really stressed. But every case is different!

OH FR!!!!!!! Luckily I haven't had anyone tell me that, but I also have some pretty....personal tics.....which people can't see and don't know about if I didn't say anything.

Yes, I agree. I got diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome about two years ago and I have one tic where I shake my leg and people don’t see it but it’s always there and I know it.
@Same_Local.Insomnic5 ай бұрын
I don’t think I have Tourette’s, but I have tics for other reasons. And personally I’m able to mask my tics most of the time, otherwise I get breaks in between frequent ticcing. The point is, just because someone is not constantly ticcing doesn’t make their experience any less valid. Have a lovely day friends ♥️ Never stop learning

Tics wax and wane as well (increase and decrease in frequency) . Certain things can cause a person's tics to increase in frequency (get a few people with Tourette's in the same room and see what happens). Also, there are medications that can help reduce tics. Carly, you are an amazing advocate and example for Tourette sufferers all over the world. Much love, girly!

Yes. I went to the chiropractor for years for a neck jerking tic & had to get 3 different therapies for it. Also went there for a shoulder rolling tic. I have an eye straining tic where my body forces my eyes as far as they can go in any direction & that temporarily hurts. I used to have a tic where I took a few steps back while walking & my calf muscles burned so much from walking forwards & backwards it made me cry once

Is there a difference between ticks and Touretts because, isn't ticks like a small movement with your jaw or eyes like how I open my mouth uncontrollably or how my roll my eyes in a way I can't control. Other then Touretts, I feel like it's worse like, saying things or doing physical things
@Spamilton17394 ай бұрын
Tourettes is the name for a disorder that has met these qualifications: 2 or more motor tics 1 or more vocal tics And has lasted consistently for more than a year Tics: Can exist without being tourettes Can be motor or vocal

Just a question (I’m sorry if it sounds weird) Does the brain just have a thought of a sentence for example you saying, ‘I got rice’ is that the only words that your Tourette’s makes you do or are there other words. There’s other KZbinr with Tourette’s that says ‘can you shut the ****’ shut the front door let’s say but I just want to know (Sorry if it sounds super disrespectful this question was just flying around my head rent free)
