Hey Steve. Buddy and I ran hot and cold and I never figured out why. He was just like that sometimes. Go figure. Personally I LOVED the fact that he put me down on Johnny's show. Great publicity.

Nice job on the narrative! I met Butch around 2011 in San Diego when he played with the Basie band...again!!! He was extremely approachable and truly a very nice guy.

I met Butch just after a gig in Denmark with the Count Basie Band. Allthough he was actually still short of breath minutes after playing he was SO friendly and wonderful. Butch is truly a great musician in evry sense of the word.

Please someone upload CountBasie's '77(I think) concert of WhirlyBird again. Solo part at the beginning and at the end is from that concert. I can no longer find it.

On the clip Buddy wasn't really being negative. He just said something like he could get two Butch Miles pictures for a picture Carson had of him (Buddy). Carson asked Buddy if he still had a feud going and Buddy basically said no.

Oh, upload or where can I purchase it. Is it possible to buy the concert video from that SOFA Entertainment? I googled. What are they?

I seemed like Buddy was just joking around in his sarcastic way.

Did you put this together personally? this is awesome. I'm one of his students at Texas State and he is the nicest and most humble drummer I've ever gotten to know, and its an extreme blessing studying with him
@NewFrontier4.06 ай бұрын
That is not true. Buddy may have put in a good word for him but Butch Miles himself said it was Sonny Cohn one of Basie's trumpet players that got him in the Count's band.

A little confused how he could be born in Ironton, Ohio while his mother was visiting relatives in Kentucky. That is quite a woman to be 2 places at one time. This sentence is 48 seconds in.
