This is just amazing; the instrument as well as the GUI. I am loving this Play Series concept and I think it goes nicely with the Expansions. We need more such alternative/indie instruments - a kind request to NI. :) I also wonder if this new Play Series UI theme and feature improvements will be updated in the earlier instruments (prior to Lo-Fi Glow if I am not wrong).

Can the MIDI mapping for the kit pieces/pads be edited? I see the note assignments on each "pad", but don't see anything in the manual about editing the note assignments. And if so, would that disturb the included patterns?

Can this be mapped to an e-kit to play along with?
@thecalling6674 жыл бұрын
Yup! Use the MIDI button thing they showed here and then assign your pads to whichever samples you want them to be. Have to obviously have an interface with MIDI I/O connected to your computer, as well as have that on your e-kit's drum module :)

How can I order Maschine + from the website for my son if the shipping and billing screen is not working... how do you import samples?
@veloaficionado56873 жыл бұрын
This is a good sounding kit but they should have released it as a Maschine / Battery kit instead of creating this pointless clunky interface. The midi config isn’t standard and swapping samples on the pads is hit and miss.

Why do native never make things like this Maschine compatible?
@afmfintech4 жыл бұрын
DrSmook actually, it is; you just load Kontakt within Maschine and the pads will map to a group, just like the other Kontakt drum libraries. All of the processing options would be hard to implement natively in Maschine; you would have to own a copy of Supercharger GT, for example. Since you can export the patterns as MIDI, you could reimport them into your project if you wanted to modify them. Obviously, this is meant to show off the capabilities of the new 6.4 release, and the Kontakt player is free to use. So there’s a much bigger audience in Kontakt than in Maschine.

@sethsherwood59854 жыл бұрын
You can load it via Kontact as an instrument sure-- but the fact that the instrument virtual pads don't map to be playable to maschine's pads seems like an oversight. I'm not a midi wizard and it seemed to me, since you see Vig playing maschine pads in his studio, that this would work like any other VST and allow me to play my own beats with Vig's kits/samples. But you can't. It's basically a $50 collection of loops. You can swap samples, you can adjust effects and tweak the sounds all you want-- but as far as "playing" goes, you'll only ever be triggering pre-made loops. I feel like this could have just as easily achieved with a sample pack. Aside from the tweaking, this isn't really a playable "instrument." I feel misled and a little ripped off. EDIT: You can technically play them, the sounds do map to key in lower octaves. So in theory they can be played on Maschine studio pads-- but they won't be mapped like kits usually are.

I've always wondered about these kits-can I use them as sound replacements in my session? For instance, if I record my real drums, can I turn that into midi and then use some of these sounds instead?

i Know in Ableton Live 10 you can create your own drum racks with custom recorded wav files. As for this tutorial video, he did mention that you can import different sounds for the different drums in the kit. I'm not sure if this means that you can import custom wav files though. I'll buy it and get back to you.

Definitely depends on what genre you're going for. I slotted it into a lot of my alt-rock tracks and it fit like a charm with little-to-no adjustment, but that's probably because Butch has always been an alt-rock kind of guy. I am having trouble getting the crashes to sound as good as some others I've used though

@@landonstewart5132 there has to be a data bank that the samples are pulled from. I haven’t checked yet myself, but there should be a way to find that data bank and add our own wav samples.
