They look good, brother! I feel the pain of a dated kitchen. Mine is straight out of the 70's complete with faux brick! I have completely dreaded what the total project is going to entail. I am not the handiest guy in the world, and that's being kind. In fact I still need instructions to screw in a light bulb. Okay, that's an exaggeration, but a kitchen remodel is not the kind of project that I am not comfortable working on, especially given the time I have to sink in on something like that. On the plus side my brother is a cabinet maker. So I at least know the quality I am getting, and save a few bucks as well. Anywho... Looking forward to seeing how your kitchen evolves, and as always thanks for the content and sharing!

I totally get it! There are things that I know I just can't do, when we were considering the backsplash, I KNEW I COULDN'T DO THAT lol - Might have to talk to your brother in a few years!

Been thinking about doing this for ages, since we have that wild laminate stuff with the speed bump at the edge, and everything is peeling and chipped. But our cabinets are the same particle board garbo, and I've never known the correct order of operations. Good to know there's an affordable wood option though!

Yeah for us it just didn't make sense to spend a lot of new cabinets when we know that our little monsters (I mean Angels) would just destroy them. So this, the backsplash and painting the upper cabs made the most sense. Cabinet painting is next!
