Hi I’m a dad with a newborn baby and I absolutely love my little baby, I just honestly get scared holding her because she feels so light and sometimes I overthink scaring myself and watching your child holding your baby on that one part just made me feel so happy and made me realize like even a child can hold a baby and I just gained strength and hope from watching this video and I just want to thank you for doing what you do.

@pool8party3 жыл бұрын
I got teary when she said "you were chosen to be this baby's mom." (I am 23 weeks) Oh right, I need to remember to give myself grace as a first time mom. You are going to be learning as baby is learning. Good luck to you and your baby.

“Value your worth by your productivity” this concept with motherhood, yes. Nailed it. I heard that loud and clear and can resonate with that statement so much. I have a 20 month old and a 7 week old. Sometimes I just want the counter to be cleaned off to feel human.

As a mom of 2 under 2 I can say that all of this is 100% true!! If you're expecting, look no further than this video for setting you up for success! The second child really does put things into perspective more. I didn't cry when I met my first, but I did with me second because I was so grateful for another chance at the newborn phase since it so fleeting!❤

Such a fantastic video for new mommy's or mommy's on #2 etc. With all social media now there's a lot of focus showing the 'Perfect Mommy and Perfect Children ' and Perfectly decorated/ cleaned and organized homes making some feel unworthy or a failure to their family. I love how you use common sense and reality in your videos. My daughter just had her 2nd child and is in the throws of it with a toddler now so I sent this to her. I subbed to you for your motivation video and to share with my daughter to give her sound advice that's not just coming from 'Mom' but a peer. You're really doing a great job and helping many people 👏

I miss having babies. Yes, time flies!! I can’t believe my babies are grown men (31, 28 and 20). Enjoy every single moment. 💜❤️💚. Don’t worry about your home. Concentrate on you and your baby. 🦋🌸. I love all your tips and tricks. But I am so glad you said to ultimately trust your instincts. When I was pregnant with my son, I read all the books and some of them actually freaked me out so I finally put them down and decided that I would trust my instincts that we all have and I was able to relax and just focus on being the best mom I could. Now he is 13 and turning out to be a great kid. I also loved your tip of keeping a list of items you actually need help with so when people do offer you know what you need help with. Love you channel and babies are adorable

I love that you call it a "brain dump". I coined the phrase "brain vomit" back in the 7th grade when I started writing down any thought that came to my head when I was bored. Now in adulthood it is a very productive way to make those fleeting anxieties about things that need to get done a tangible list that I can prioritize.

Hi Callie, it’s your fellow CT subscriber here! This video was extremely helpful, I’m currently pregnant with my first and I’m an aunt 10x. I practically raised them, but it’s never the same like having your own. As much as I do feel prepared, I’m definitely lowering my standards, and trying educating myself to prevent Postpartum anxiety or depression as much as I possibly can. It would definitely be much appreciated if you have other newborn/postpartum videos that are being planned. Thanks a ton for this one!

What a beautiful baby. I really don’t need any baby tips but I wanted to watch your video just to see you and your new baby. The one point you made was so true, every moment you have with your baby is temporary so enjoy while you can. I carried my baby’s and snuggled with them every chance I had. There is no such thing as a spoiled baby, only a well loved one. I know you’ll enjoy every moment. You have a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing.

Labor and post-partum doulas are a wonderful resource for new moms. They often are trained on breastfeeding too so they can assist in that journey. But lactation consultants are available too. And if breastfeeding isn't part of the journey, that's ok too. Thankfully we have so many options now for all kinds of mothers. I loved my wraps (Maya wrap for me!) for baby wearing & the backpack too once they're older. And Boppy pillows. Also the slanted breastfeeding stool is great for nursing also. Loved that.

Everything you say is soooo true. I’m a first time mon with a 9 week old. Go JANUARY babies! Lol. I totally related to the bit about anxiety of sitting while baby is napping on you. Always have to tell myself to take a breath and remember to enjoy the moment because too soon she’ll be bigger and not want to snuggle as much.

Take your me time!! 🌸Don’t feel guilty!! Being a Mom is hard. It’s a never ending job! I left my boys with my Mom for a few hours, once every two weeks to just go shopping. Yes to making the goals! I'm not great at writing them down, but I always had one small goal in my mind for "if she gives me a minute". Even having 5+ goals for the day stressed me out (it was a rough transition here!), so just giving myself that 1 goal was so motivational because 9.5/10 times, I'd get that AND some done!

My three mantras, which have been with since before my children were born, so more than 30 years: I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. That which does not kill me, strengthens me. This, too, shall pass. As a mother of grown children, my unsolicited advice to all new mothers, and mothers at any stage, would be this: read to your children. At the very least read a bedtime story, but try to incorporate reading throughout the day. Start with board books, just pointing out and naming images or telling the story if there is one. Choose good books, which generally means older books, as in published more than twenty years ago. Not all books are good so be choosy. Steer away from trendy themes and choose books which help instill the values you hold and want your children to hold. Think about the books that shaped you and your views. Books shape minds so choose good books for yourself and for your children ::descends soap box:: Finley is beautiful, Kallie. I love her name - and all that hair! ~ Lisa
