Carol did most of the work converting her 2012 Ford Transit Connect XLT to a camper. She said, “I figured if I could sew, I could cut wood!” And she did a great job. This was her first camping experience and her first women's meetup.

I have been dreaming about this for more than three years and still am not on the road. Transportation being the main issue, but I really want to do it. I will be 75 in Aug. my daughter keeps saying Mom you don’t need to be running all over camping you’re too old. I let her know that there are men and women in their 80’s and 90’s out there all ages are out having a good life. Am working on it. Hope to see you all on the road sometime soon.

What's nice about van life, for women, in particular, you get freedom, from life's responsibilities, you have adventure, you meet people to befriend, you learn, you explore and, in and on. So often, we are told by society, being home, caring for family, is enough. Look at where women are today. We are a source to reckon with. More power to us all. This video was inspiring. I love this lady and she is so inspiring. I am "older," and I want to do this. But of course, I'm scared. Do you ever interview people that are a little sickly, and take perscription medications daily? Some days I sleep waaay too much, and I think this would help me. I also suffer from insomnia when I can't wake up. I'm putting myself out there telling you this, but are their others like me? I want to do this so badly and I want to start getting ready to find a vehicle soon. Again, are there others in my same boat? There HAS to be, right?, I am convinced this would help me regulate my sleeping. I'm probably just bored and depressed.

I can't advise you on health issues but there are others in a similar situation. I know my sleep and energy has changed for the better. You must have a comfortable bed. I am a lot more active. You can't beat fresh air for helping you sleep.when camping you can follow your own timepiece. I'm 89years getting ready for a two week camping trip next month.1 cat 1 dog. For me there is nothing to compare the feeling.thats me. Then I return home and in a few months start on Christmas. Great life. Good luck try the fresh air!.

Her van looks pretty cozy. I like the idea of the water container instead of full plumbing. Too many issues with mold that I've seen. Also having a portable battery to charge cell and lights is great. She's got sewing talents!❤

I put silver drawer pulls along the wood beside the kitchen stairs, and on the side of the entry door so Momma could hold on to something when she stepped into the house. They are shaped like the van door holder you use to get into the van. It has to be something her hand wouldn't slip off of. She could screw it into the wooden cabinet where she steps in. It works!
