Never have I ever seen anyone make gravy from butter. It has always been with bacon or sausage drippings. This is a new one for me.

Always sausage dripping. I have never had biscuits and gravy without the pork sausage. I had have chicken gravy once and it was good. We also used to make shxx on a shingle when I was a kid. Chipped beef (Buddig beef cut up) in cream gravy on toast. I loved it when my Dad made it. So this is plain cream gravy. I would eat this.

That a rue not gravy. Butter flour and milk are tha basic rue sauce. If that's your gravy what do you put with a roast dinner?!! . We have a roast dinner every Sunday . My favourite is roast lamb , roast suds savoy cabbage ,brussel sprouts. Roasted carrots , swede, and cauliflower cheese .Not forget home made Yorkshire pudding , with mint sauce and homemade lamb gravy. Which is made from the juice and fat of the meat , cornflour and hot water wisk until thick and glossy ..can't wait until Sunday now 🤣🤣🤣

@@sarahjames2991 - It is a roux, BUT it's also milk gravy when you don't have any meat drippings to make the gravy with. It's delicious poured over biscuits. 😊

This video brought tears to my eyes! Before I knew it I was taken back to being a little girl sitting at my great granny's bar in her kitchen peering over looking at her making her delicious homemade biscuits! Everyone including family and friends would always ask me about my granny and how she was and they always would throw in there how great of a cook she was and how delicious and soft her homemade biscuits were! This video was such a pleasure to watch. My granny had a sifter and she'd do the exact same thing as you did here. The only difference, she cooked her biscuits in a cast iron skillet. Aside from that your way and her way was identical. She's how I started to learn how to cook! I enjoyed watching her cooking. She was the sweetest lady. I miss her dearly and your cooking reminds me so much of her. Good, delicious southern food made with love :)

I love love love biscuits and gravy!!! I have somebody tell me once the secret to sausage gravy was to add a little bit of Worcestershire to the gravy. It really does make a difference. God bless!!!

I Love Gravy and Biscuits. I make mine with breakfast sausage though. I cook a big breakfast every Saturday Morning. Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Fried apples, fried potatoes and onions. I just moved south and found your website and I have been watching a lot of your videos. My 8yr old son watches with me and we both thought this dish looked really good. Last week I made the biscuits and the kids ate them before I could make the gravy. lol Well on the weekend I made the biscuits and gravy, but we don't drink regular milk we only have almond milk. I used the almond milk for the gravy and it gave it a sweet taste but with the salt omgoodness it was soooo good! I think you just turned us into southerners 🥰🥰🥰 Lol

That last little bit of biscuit dough, Mom would always twist it and call it the "funny biscuit." We always fought over who would get it because it would crisp up. Mom and Dad would make gravy like that, though he'd usually do it with the grease from meat they were cooking.

Looks yummy. Its okay to put the cutter in flour. Its not okay to twist your cutter when cutting biscuits. The twist motion closes the layers in the biscuits and they won't rise as much. I learned about sausage gravy from my husband! We don't have it very often now...on a snowy days and Christmas morning!!! With biscuits!!
