I watched this live last week & as soon as it was over I went straight to my kitchen & made me some biscuits & gravy. I didn't have any sausage but it was still the best breakfast I've had in a LONG time. My husband wasn't raised in the south & doesn't care for white gravy. Just like you always say, we like what we were raised on. The big deal here is that I had forgotten how to make good gravy but after watching you, it all came back to me. I was so proud of it I called my family in TN. 😊 So thank you for reminding me how to make good milk gravy & all of the other recipes I learned from you.

I live in Carrollton now, and im having so much fun going through your recipes. My husband is having a great time tasting them too. Everytime i watch a video it feels like im spending time with a favorite aunt and uncle in their kitchen, so thank you for sharing. Im so glad i found your channel.

Tammy, you inspire me to cook, and want to cook! I don’t cook much, but lately when I do, things just don’t taste good to me. I am 75 (in 12 days), and my husband passed away 10 years ago (week after Thanksgiving.) After watching your videos, I now want to learn to make biscuits! I made them one time when we first got married, and my husband said that I could make a bunch and give them to his friend that was a hunter! He could throw them at the deer and kill it. You make it look so easy, and I am going to conquer this art!!! Wish me luck! Thanks for your videos and keep encouraging young cooks on “how to cook like mama did!”

One thing I’ve learned about making gravy over the years....if you heat the milk while your browning your flour then when you poor it in the milk it won’t get lumpy and it thickens and gets silky smooth quicker....please try it ....it works perfectly every time 🥰
@deejo23 жыл бұрын
This sounds like a great tip. Do you want the milk hot or just take the chill off of it?
@Stacy-pz9rr3 жыл бұрын
@@deejo2 I like it pretty hot just so it doesn’t clump and as you stir and pour it just smoothies out perfectly 🙌🏻

When I was a teenage I took the cornbread out of the oven and put the cornbread in a plate and I immediately stuck it under cold water and the whole pan broke all the way into. My Daddy said leave it up to me to break an iron skillet. Lol

You make gravy exactly like I do. I've watched so many people on utube that don't know how to do it. However, I use exact measurements on the flour and milk. I use enough grease to make a nice consistency so the rue can brown perfectly. I make the gravy a little thicker so I can thin it slightly with milk at the end. I love your videos.

Yummy, Those eggs look divine. I like runny yolks too. Our Dad taught us how to eat them. Mom liked her eggs fried hard. When we were little he told her to give us runny eggs...my sister and I still love them that way. I am 70, she is 73. It is funny how we all have our choice in sausage. My favorite is Gunnoes. It doesn’t have grease either...I add butter to it to make gravy.

I make my biscuits like you, but I pat them out and use a biscuit cutter. I use Jimmy Dean sausage, but I also add some crisco. I use a large cast iron skillet and fill it to the top. When I make it that is all my family will eat, so I have to make a lot. My mom always added water to the flour mixture, and then canned milk, so that’s how I make it too. But we don’t like pepper in it , just salt, and We don’t like it dark either,, sort of medium. I use more flour and grease than you do, and I use a regular whisk. I never measure anything..Yours looks delicious, and I really enjoy watching you cook. Your recipes always look so wonderful. We always crumble our biscuits too. My husband would love your eggs.

My Mama mage the worlds best biscuits and gravy, in my opinion of course, and you make your biscuits EXACTLY the way, rolled, on the greased pan and let them touch each other. She said yes helped each other rise. She said if you cut them it pinches the sides and they don't rise up fluffy like a hand rolled biscuit. She made her gravy the same way too. See, I told you that it was the world's best, I will bet that your mama made the world's best too.😊

I’ve heard you mention that your gas stove is not as hot as your electric was. I have the exact same Kitchen Aid as yours and I’ve discovered even though the back burner looks smaller than the front right it must have more BTUs because it gets hotter much faster! Try it and you will know what I mean. Love watching you guys, and am now binge watching Chris channel!

I always fry eggs with the lid, the trick is to get that lid on as soon as you've cracked the last egg into the skillet so that the whites don't get too brown before the skin forms over the yolks. I do the same as you do with my cast iron, warm water when I'm done using it and after washing, on the stove on low heat till it's dry then while it's still warm rub in some oil.

Hey Tammy, I wanted to share with you my grandmother’s Italian breakfast recipe that my mom and me still make and crave! Peppers and Eggs: 2 cubanelle peppers (Italian frying peppers) 1 sweet onion 2 garlic gloves minced (I know you’re not a fan so you could use roasted garlic powder) 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 6 eggs Salt Pepper Sauté sliced peppers and onions in olive oil, add garlic and sauté for a minute longer. Whisk eggs, salt, pepper, grated cheese, and add to sautéed peppers and eggs. Cook until eggs are cooked to your liking. Serve on Italian bread. Enjoy!
