how is this a shot for shot combo of "sweet jane" for the verse and "for what its worth" for the chorus

You can see they arent having as much fun here. The labels were forcing them in a certain direction, and it looks like it sucked some soul out of them.
@will_scarborough64873 жыл бұрын
The song is so fitting for that as well, like a cry for help

@d R yeah. But they're up there in age now. You gotta figure, eventually bills need paying. Acid and avant garde concerts only pay off so much.

It never felt like they were trying to be mainstream, the whole album always felt like a hilarious bit. Like the buttholes impression of what was on the radio at the time. I love it! They were able to impersonate some of the melodies and rhythms but keep their idiosyncrasies. Jet Fighter’s Never Die is the best example. What a weird song, the sarcastic patriotism, the sleighbells and the terrible autotune? Perfect.

Somehow a band with the name of Butthole Surfers weaseled their way into mainstream just for a moment...

I saw them on this tour. WTF was up with King's drumset? Pretty sure it's synth drums inside metal buckets. But yeah, we all hated this song when it came out. Sounded like something from MTV Beach house or something but it's grown on me

Don't let this bad performance fool you. They were the best live band on the planet in their prime.

Not sure any band could shine that turd. They’re perfect live. TV stages not so much.

The tour they did at this time was killer. Played mostly their 80s stuff. This performance is their absolute lowest point
