I fucking love the last part. Such a simple concept that is mostly always overlooked, "your body is YOUR BODY." No one else's, unless you want it to be, and that is absolutely fine since it's YOUR body.

I've listened to this a countless number of times now. But it never fails to inspire me, pick me up, push me forward. Even the couple negative, hateful assholes who've commented on this just keep pushing me forward. My thighs...well, my thighs say replay.

his poem has such an amazing rhythm. At 1:52 begins the crescendo to a symphony of self-empowerment. And then Jill Scott's Golden at the end is just the cherry on top. Love it!

I love love love how this poem begins as a seeming simple body image poem, but turns into a powerful, painful, proud statement of self-loathing and makes in important point of how you need to love yourself.

Consistently I see passionate and powerful poems from Button Poetry's productions, but this transcends that. It is rare that I feel I've found a poem that covers all the angles, that is well-rounded. This is complete. It is art. It is a masterpiece.

i just discovered this poem... i've always had a... thing with my thighs, i always felt they were an issue. "i shouldn't wear shorts, or a dress, or a swimsuit. why would i reveal my thighs? no. never". until a year ago (more or less). i started a journey through self acceptance, and more importantly: self love. the path is rough and tough, and so am i. and turns out, i am made of so many things. i am music, i am lyrics, i am poetry, i am movies, i am desserts, i am tears, i am sweat, i am sex, i am flowers, i am colors, i am dresses and shorts and swimsuits. i am love. right now i love myself so damn much and i wear whatever the fuck i want, sometimes with a little bit of fear, but always bold. bold as my thighs. you can't imagine how much i cried listening to this. have an amazing evening.
