You couldn't have said it better my friend: LARA FABIAN is one of those few artists who sings in a FLOW state of mind when she is fully connected to the Higher Dimensions/Morphogenetic Field and the way she does it is by resonating with the song in an Ego-less state of mind (by fully living what she sings)!

She did this in one take. Great analysis. One of my favorite parts is her crazy resonant sound on closed vowel in "believe" with her mouth almost closed. Lara is very subtle in her vocal delivery and that's what I love the most about her. She makes hard stuff look easy. I think you would enjoy "Caruso" from the same concert. Her phrasing is out of this world and real teaching moment (and it's in Italian which is a plus :))

Some people believe that she destabilizes a little bit at the end since she goes from a nice vibrato to a straight tone that might have sounded a little shaky. However, the more I listen to this the more I believe this is intentional, as she probably wants to transition into something that feels a little more like a cry of despair. The breath at the very end really fits this narrative and I think I'm gonna go with it.

@robinaudy10302 жыл бұрын
She did this on purpose. Her voice breaking at the end is intentional. Also that raspy breath she lets out. She is letting us know that she is emotionally and utterly spent. This is a passionate love letter to the man she loves. I mean as part of the story. The woman she portrays gave her all and is stripped to the core of her being. She bared her soul completely. What a performance! Few artists will dare to be this vulnerable. Must be emotionally draining on her. So much respect for Lara!

Ah, I’m just now finding out about the Celine Dion comparisons. Interesting. In some aspects yes, I hear it. But not initially or even for the most part.
@vervideosgiros11563 жыл бұрын
I think that some people compare her with Céline because they are both "francophone" (Lara has French and Italian as mother languages). Just English native speakers compare them, probably because the majority don't speak French and isn't familiar with French. Francky, I can't see similarities between them... Lara's English is way better than Celine's, which is understandable, since Lara speaks English since forever and Céline just started to learn English at 20 yrs, I guess, and it's way easier to learn a foreign language as a child than as an adult.

I've already lost count of how many times I've seen this video... when they passed two dozen I stopped counting hahahahahah. Every time I listen to it I notice little details, both Lara's modulations and Jessica's features. This time I would like to say that it seems almost even "painful" for Jessica to listen to this beast of the stage. It was impossible for her to stop to comment on details, because at every moment she heard very interesting things, very difficult to find in other artists, and in this way, she listened to the whole song with only a pause in between. Lara really "gets into" the character she plays with her music, she lives every moment intensely and manages to transmit it both to her live audience (the lucky ones) and to all of us. Jessica, if you want to "suffer" again with Lara Fabian, I would suggest you to listen to Je t'aime from her 2001 Paris concert. I leave you a link to the video with French and English subtitles so that your followers can better understand the lyrics of the song. If you do, I would like you to explain to us how it is possible to sing in such a state of mind... personally I find it impossible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4CWk2CDrt6HkMk A big hug and lots of encouragement to continue on your journey through the musical world around us.

Thank you so much for your expert analysis of Lara's classic performance of her song. I'm not a singer but am a trumpet player. I guess I shouldn't be supprised by the similarities between the two disciplines. We adjust our embouchure automatically to produce diferent tones, and breath control from the diaphragm is somewhat similar also. Before you explained, technically what Lara is doing to produce these gorgeous sounds, I was just in awe of the beauty of the song. I now also understand how it's done. Think I'll stick with my horn. May I please ask you to review her epic performance of an extract from Barbra Streisand's film "Yentl". She sings "Papa can you hear me" and "a piece of sky". Two horrendously difficult songs. First time watching you. Great reaction. Lara is in a class by herself.

This is such a good video reaction. My favourite between Lara’s ones. So thank you for capturing, with such attention to details, both the emotions and the technique 🙏🏻

The way she sings you know she can do it without the sighs, breaths etc., but she choses to instead use them to convey story and feeling. As you say, she's a performer and is as much about the meaning and emotion behind what she sings as she is about the singing itself, or that's the impression I've gotten :) Never mind that she's amazing at both singing and making you feel the song. I love this one, and Je suis Malade from this same concert makes my eyes tear up. I wish I'd found her sooner (just a couple of years ago) but I'm glad I finally did :) I don't know what my favorite part was, but that long note is one, and in Je suis Malade my favorite part is probably when she makes that cutting motion with her thumb and says she's like a dead bird

In the history of recorded music there are only a few singers that sound exactly the same when they sing live and when they record their CD/Albums. Lara is one of those gifted voices of all time. I'm glad people are finally reacting to Lara. I've known about Lara since before she ever crossed over to America. There is a great Spanish song she sings live called Quedate that will also drop you to your knees. She speaks a bunch of languages fluently and sings them too like French, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese and more. She is Half Belgium/Half Italian.

I love your explanation of what is going on...beyond my expertise......it has been a while since I heard this song from her....and now I'm crying (a man who get moved by music). My wife and i were very lucky to see her in Miami a couple of years ago.

Thank you! Gorgeous reaction! “Adagio” is one of my favourite Lara’s performances! You must react to “Broken Vow” and “You’re not from here” from the same concert! Incredible performances!!

Just perfection! 🙌🏼 I’m not talking about just of this gorgeous performance of this stunning piece, of course, by theeee one and only Lara Fabian, but to the most amazing and most beautiful explanation of what was going on while Lara was singing… 👏🏼👏🏼 Jess, you are the best, that’s, honestly, what I can say… Thank you again and again!!!! 💪🏼💪🏼 Oh, and my favorite part? Simply: every second of that performance! ❤️❤️

It is interesting... I have chills when I see Lara not singing, but being "possessed" by the music and then I have chills again when you break down each tiny bit of her performance and your genuine reaction. After your thorough analysis, I watch her videos again from new perspectives. Thank you.

I love every part of hearing Lara! Her voice is a gift from GOD and her skill in using it to convey emotions is not simply compelling, but it lassos the listener and drags one, not unwillingly, into the desperation, heartbreak, and despair of the words she is singing; she becomes a musical tour guide - coloring and nuancing every phrase, while evoking the same feelings in her listener; this is her skill and her craft and she is impeccable - a master. My only regret is to have not had a chance to be in the same room with her while she sings!!!

Wonderful reaction, thank you, I like the sound of your voice when you sing! I was obsessed with this song for months once it came out, it is just so damn powerful, Lara is one of my favorite female vocalists and I have several. It's still my favorite of her but tightly after comes Je suis malade. I think her and Beth Hart are the absolute top when it comes to emotional powerhouse female vocalists of this moment.
