How rare to see a commentary as expertly rendered as the performance. Bravo, Jess (and Kenton). The song is already perfect, thanks to Messrs Taupin and John, and was deservedly all over the airwaves in 1971. I think it's deceptively difficult to do well. Delightful to hear such a meaningful and fresh interpretation. Sorry can't do hearts. Words must suffice.

🤍 Thanks for the reaction, Kenton's voice is pure velvet to me, I'm always more impressed by timbre and tone than by vocal range. Hope we'll get to see you react to some of his covers with Scary Pockets - much more upbeat and funky, (Roxanne / Toxic / Drunk in Love [whichever really]) - it's a whole other side of him, this guy is a BEAST of a vocalist :)
