Playing around with Buu is part of Vegito's strategy. He's waiting for Buu to use a certain technique so he can save Piccolo, Gohan, Goten and Trunks. It may look like Vegito is just being cocky and careless but he's actually thinking 3 steps ahead.

It takes place over at least 2, possibly 3 days. Day 1 encompasses Goku's arrival at the tournament up to him meeting Gohan at the world of the Kais. Day 2 is Gohan training under Elder Kai and Gotenks vs Super Buu. Day 3 is Gohan's arrival up to the very end of the final battle. Of course I don't think we ever actually see the sun go down so it feels like it's all one day. There are also arguments that Buu and Satan's friendship happened over the course of a few days so you could make the case for the story taking place over a week. But keeping track of time has never been Toriyama's strong suit. The entire Namek story takes place over one long day, then there's Frieza's whole "5 minutes until the planet explodes" thing and the time between Vegeta and Trunks entering the time chamber and Goku and Gohan emerging from it. Basically, it's probably best not to try to make sense of time in Dragon Ball. 🤣

@@darknesswave100 It's a weird quirk of DBZ. Time wise, entire days can pass and you'll even hear characters reference the passage of time and yet it's always daylight during these big events. When Vegeta and Trunks go into the time chamber in the Cell Saga, they're in there for a full 24 hours but night never comes. When they come out, Gohan and Goku go in and by the time they come out, there's still been no night time. There are actual night time scenes in DBZ but they're rare.

Vegito isn’t more Vegeta. He has lines that are akin to what Vegeta says but he also has lines akin to Goku’s dialogue (e.g “Still hungry Buu? Eat this!”). Also Vegeta doesn’t go all out from the beginning and extends fights far longer than they should all the time. That’s a saiyan habit not a Goku habit. Vegeta constantly extending the fight looking for a stronger enemy literally causes two out of three major villains to transform (Frieza via goading him on and Cell via letting him absorb 18). The only Saiyan to subvert this habit is Trunks.

They're overlayed. The actors were asked this at a panel once, and revealed rgar one actor goes first, and then the second one has to follow them, matching the original's tone and pitch. Chris Sabat said that he prefers Vegito to Gogeta, because when they do Vegito, he goes first and Sean Schemmel has to match him, but when they do it for Gogeta, Sean gets to go first, and he finds it hard to match Goku's more excited tone with Vegeta's voice.

Ok so one theory about why Vegito is so cocky. So the name Vegito is a fusion of Vegeta and Kakarotto (yes that is how it is said in Japanese) Both Saiyan names. So, remember how cocky Goku got when he abandoned his humanity on Namek against Frieza once Krillin died. Well I'm guessing the same scenario is working out here. Whenever Saiyans get way too much power, they just get cocky. It's in their nature..

11:03 Almost everything with Tien is anime filler (as well as all the Afterlife stuff), he never really actually shows back up in the Buu Saga. Which some have noticed might be intentional with how much his character seems to get wasted when he isn't forgotten (and might be a result of him kind of being the character that represents China). In original Dragon Ball he is introduced as being similar to Goku since they also made a big deal about him being able to also learn moves by just seeing them once, when he was technically still a villain he does a Kamehameha during the World Tournament after seeing it done for the very first time. This saga tends to come across as if it was written in the fly with some of the ass-pulls and inconsistencies. Like Buu's absorption being inconsistent, Super Buu came from Evil Buu eating Good Buu as a cookie yet he didn't absorb Dabura or anyone else that was turned to food and has to use pieces of his body to absorb others.

When Elder Kai was talking about the fusion being more complete it's because goku and vegeta when fused essentially give each other what they lack. Vegeta is so prideful but he has gokus humility to even him out while goku doesn't have a killer instinct and vegeta gives him that. So they quite literally complete each other

Vegito would not have tried to kill Broly the same way Gogeta did. Vegitos "trash talk" isn’t necessarily due only to cockiness, but it’s meant to make his opponents weaker mentally. We’ve only seen Gogeta once so far, but Vegito has shown higher feats of Battle IQ.

Tien was left behind. When goku sensed vegeta, he instant transmissioned to him and dende and Mr. Satan followed him. However, for reasons unknown, Tien never followed them. And keep in mind, dende healed him so he was fully capable of doing so. Also, some trivia for you. Do you know why Vegito is dubbed 'the last saiyan?' If you write down all saiyan names in alphabetical order, Vegito would be the last on the list.

Every time they obliterated Buu he just regenerated, so I think Vegito was thinking that Buu was completely indestructible. I believe his strategy was to demoralize Buu so badly that he would willingly give up in order to stop the abuse. Yamcha and Kurririn was able to keep their bodies because like King Kai said he took them out of the line to Kina Yama as they were his studens and they saviors of Earth too. The place they're at is Heaven realm, which is where Demi-Gods and Kai (of King Kai grade) are located. I would say power-wise Vegito that survived thrugh Cell Games would survive he would beat Fat Buu eaisly unless he would slack off more than Gohan but i think he would get himself busy once in awhile out of furstartion of being in one body with lack of worthy opponents/rivals

That's more with gogeta than vegito. Vegito seems to have Vegetas personality while he looks like goku to me. Gogeta you can split his face down the middle and it's vegeta on the left and goku on the right

Given they were confident that Goten and Trunks fusing would be able to defeat Fat Buu, and both of them are FAR weaker than Goku and Vegeta were during the Cell arc, then yes: A fusion of Goku and Vegeta from the Cell arc would definitely be able to defeat Fat Buu. I'm not convinced he could beat Buuhan, though. Although I think he could have beaten up Super Buu. Krillin and Yamcha training in the afterlife is indeed filler. They never became that strong; certainly not in the space of the few hours they've been there for (this is still the exact same day they died).

Vegito would’ve beat the regular majin buu. Super buu, buuhan and butenks is all stronger than regular buu. And even if goku didn’t have super sayain 3 they still would’ve won because even in there base form and they fuse there energy multiplies. On top of super sayain 1 and 2

Again, Vegito turning SS in the first place was simply to demonstrate to Buu that no matter the circumstances, stood no chance. This worked only to his endgame, to make him mad and desperate. He never needed to transform.

After Vegito kicked back the ball, buu still was confident. Vegtio needed to make him desperate enough to do what he does eventually, so he needed to make him mad and desperate. So he damages his pride and ego by transforming to demonstrate he has no chance. Vegito was powerful enough in base. It may not have been as easy, but he still could. Super Saiyan was the end cap. The absolute flex.
