I started with a 345, but once I drove a 392 I was hooked. Long story short, I bought the 392 and I'm selling the 345. The torque curve is early and constant on the 392. However, it's all in what you can afford. I've lived within my means all my life so i took a chance and got something I really wanted. To each his own...as long as it's a MOPAR it's gonna get love from me. I only throw shade at Fagstangs and Fuckmarao's. MOPAR or no car!

I’ve had SIX Challengers....and the 2015-2019 R/T wins hands down. Ive had a 2011 SXT, a 2015 R/T, a 2017 R/T 392 and a 2018 Black Scat Pack.....then back to a 2012 r/T Classic, and I’m now back to a beautiful 2016 Jazz Blue R/T Classic. This will be my last Challenger. The Scats were fun, and fast........but not fast enough for the attention they drew. It created a “sickness” in me.....a hunger for more speed that I could never satisfy no matter how many performance mods I bought. I was wasting huge money on fuel because I was always on the “loud pedal”. I’m sick of street racing.....there will always be someone faster, and the R/T is faster than 95% of anything out there.. If your desire is to “beat everybody” get a Hellcat, or aShelby 500....or a freaking Tesla. Even Scats are too heavy for “consistent competition” they are great looking tourers or cruisers. I got as many thumbs up in my R/T’s as I did in the Scats, but got harassed on the street by “every loser with a K+N sticker in their window” 1/10th as much. The 2016 R/T has plenty of power and all the Charisma of any other Challenger. Plus it’s cheaper to own, less to insure, and doesn’t attract “street idiots”. If you love these cars, and out-grew the “boy racer” scene like I did, the R/T is everything you want a Challenger to be and more, Don’t let the pursuit of “a few horsepower more” be the end of a wonderful experience with these soon to be classics. The R/T has a beautiful balance between looks, economy, sound and power. This is the best Challenger to own in my opinion without a doubt.

Where I live in west Michigan I would say 99% of the cars on the road are 4 cylinder or V-6. Most of the v-8s are in full size pickup trucks. Maybe once or twice a week I will see a stock Mustang GT and probably 1/2 of those are older 4.6L v-8s. I am plenty happy to have a faster better car than 98% of what I see out here in the real world.

You wanted to race every “Street Idiot” that pulled up to you. They still are pulling up to your R/T for a race at the light. I own a Scat Pack my self and you’re absolutely correct about the nutso’s wanting to race at every red light. I simply ignore them. I’m not wasting any gas on a race with a Honda or a V6. That 93 octane is expensive,

@Mikeman Jordan Thank you! Many folks think the absolutely fastest car is the only one to own. I grew out of that stage during the decades I was a Mustang/Cougar fan. There is fast & faster and fast enough. Killer good looks, and a balance of power and handling to have fun with, and low insurance rates. Excellent gas mileage, 33 cruising at 55, 28 @ 65, 27 @ 70. I live in the country so my combined city/highway mileage is 20-22. I'm very easy on brakes and they last me for years without attention. I had a Ford Ranger that still had half thickness of the original pads at 130,000 miles. My Challenger is the base model and needed nothing more to suit me fine. It's my toy and after 7.5 years, has 10,999 miles. I take it out and drive for fun. Mine is also white. Roll on and have fun with yours!

Love my 2021 R/T Shaker 6spd manual. I custom ordered my car, and picked every detail. Fun facts….the 6spd cars are equipped with 3.90 limited slip rears. The automatic cars have 3.09 open rears. The manual cars are generally more powerful due to the fact that automatic trans cars have more mass and a trans fluid pump to spool up, whereas the manual cars only have clutch and gears to spin. Everyone always talks about engine size with the Challenger. It’s such a one dimensional conversation. There’s so much more to the equation.
@robc84685 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100% I have a 5.7 L 2019 Challenger it has all the power handling sound and look I could ever need on the street plus the bonus for 2019 is the RT has the single scoop hood which looks almost Identical to the 1st generation Hellcat. Top speed on this car is rated at 155 mph. Back high school I grew up in the later muscle car era 1969 -70 this car would have beaten most stock muscle cars like 383 road runners GTO's , 350 Nova SS etc other than the 426 street Hemi or Shelby Mustangs or a tiny number of exotic cars very few stock cars could run 0-60 in 5.1 seconds or mid 13 second in the 1/4 mile. And none of them could get 22 MPG on regular gas like this car can do. Everybody had a story about some 11 second drag car but these were highly modified got horrible gas mileage and were almost un-useable on the street as a daily driver.

I just bought my 2018 Challenger R/T 5.7L 8 weeks ago and I LOVE it! I drive 40,000 miles/year for my job and I was a little worried about the gas mileage I was going to get. The window sticker said 23 on the highway, but that is a lie. I run Premium gas in my car, set the cruise control at 75mph, and get(I kid you not) 27-28mpg! I had a 2011 Charger SXT with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and liked that, but this is so much more fun to drive. I opted for the manual transmission as well and will say that I am very happy with my decision to get the R/T and not the SXT version.
@smitty888a6 жыл бұрын
I find that odd because you have the automatic which shuts down 4 cylinders at highway travel. My mixed driving ranges between 22-23 mpg, but to be honest I do not drive it all that hard in the city. Occasionally, I will have the opportunity to run someone just for fun, but other than that I just cruise along.

I was back and forth with selling the charger but in the end, I could not let it go, I worked hard for it, hear pretty soon, I made the decision to stick with Mopar and found me a black 2020 Challenger RT, stick shift it was perfect and just a matter of time for when I get it. My 2017 is really fast, when I hit it I float in my seat! If you think its too big to be fast, you don't need to worry about that,my mechanic told me that these feel way better and faster than ultralight Asian cars, they don't feel good like this car. To make it special there are 100s of things you can add or do to them on E bay and other sites like Carid to make your car 1 of a kind. Everyday someone stops to tell me I have a nice car too Dale Perry PEI Canada

Yo man you got that Negan swagger, if there was a zombie apocalypse shit I wouldn't want to run into you! (Unless I was part of your crew😂) Great vid will be planning to buy a challenger in hopefully the next 5 years tops but I do want that v8 at the least a scat pack.

Great video here! I own a 2015 R/T plus, and love it!! Definitely fast enough for me lol!

The Challengers and Chargers are actually 400-410 hp crank.
@Quintolloo4 жыл бұрын
Tom McBriarty I think so too, plenty keep saying the same thing. Especially w that kinda performance
@fire3980174 жыл бұрын
@@Quintolloo Any Hemi has traction problems which is their biggest problem, even more of a problem than their weight. I have 275's right now with an LSD and have hookup issues. They're all easily sub 5 seconds 0-60 if you can put the power down without spin.
@Quintolloo4 жыл бұрын
Tom McBriarty damn even with 275? Wow lol what size would you recommend when I get my RT? I’m not gonna like drag race lol but definitely do wanna good feeling acceleration from a light

Good video! Very informative. However, I can not decide between the Challenger or Charger. I had a 14 Charger SXT plus AWD and I loved it, but now I wanna step it up to the Hemi.

Mike C I have a 13 charger sxt and just bought a 2019 Challenger RT. And man do I love it. Still love my charger but it was nice changing it up a bit!

Just bought the RT scat pack 2018 omg cause of this car I love going to work and go home 😂 I don’t even care about the gas mileage like I used to in slow cars

I have 2014 RT and it’s A 6speed automatic the newer RTs have an 8speed makes a difference for sure you can beat someone driving A 5.0 manual

he is right got 2018 in mid august m6 for 31999, its a f8 green with blacktop pkg.
@DanUtley6 жыл бұрын
Daaaaaamn that F8 green is incredible. And I want a manual so badly, but I love better gas mileage lol. And the auto shifts faster. But I want to believe the manual will last WAY longer. And I believe the manual comes with a LSD in the back where the auto doesn’t.

Yup.. I've had a sxt v6 for about 4 years.. great car to have to go around in.. so scat pack don't need that much power and I won't be racing it either.. getting myself the 5.7 v8 tomorrow and that will be perfect for me.. your right buy what you want forself .. I feel 5.7 is perfect and a upgrade as well...

Get some nice jackets, like what he has on. You know like bomber jackets, leather jackets, old school style basically. Oo, and you should play Black Sabbath war pigs when it's dark outside and you're driving, don't forget to blast it
