Love my iPad Mini 6. My wish list for a 7 is an OLED screen, Face ID, 120 htz, a M1 chip, and the camera actually moved to the landscape center. That wouldn’t be a cheap Mini 7, but I would probably get it! It would basically be a Mini-pro!

I agree about all your points... except for the OLED part. I don't want OLED on a device that will stay on with static content for hours and hours at a time. And Also on a device that I will keep for many years. Burn-in would be pretty much guaranteed to happen if my iPad used an OLED screen. Also. Apples OLED screens still do not display colors quite as accurately as their LCD screens. So photo editing would be affected negatively.

Just got an iPad Mini 6 a few months ago and I love it. Gave away my 2018 iPad Pro and don’t miss it at all. I can take Mini on the road, mount on my dashboard, and it’s so comfortable to use for casual content consumption.

I’m holding out for the Mini Gen 7. Gen 6 out since 2021 so I’ll hold out. Hoping it gets a center landscape camera, a17 chip, and a better screen. Mostly I want this as a travel device for its small size. My current 12.9 IPad Pro is heavy and large especially with the Magic Keyboard.

Sadly pro motion is highly unlikely without the "Pro" names in apple products. I really hate how they do this to customers. Example, iPhone 15 and 15 plus still have 60hz displays.

I'm just curious where you bought yours and what chose for storage? My wife has the last many iPhone model. It's hard to see on so I thought this iPad mini 6 would be a nice companion. We also both like music and like to use all of our devices to play and/ back up our library. I've always used Android because - I've had a lot of nightmare experiences with iTunes and my music disappearing that I already own and have ripped into my library. She loves apple too.

@@djstretchtone9851 I bought mine from Best Buy and I chose the 64GB version. If you store your music locally, you might want the 256GB model. I use spotify so all I have to do is remember to clear the cache every now and then. I would note, that the scaling of the UI on the Mini is... odd. some of the basic things like the time date and battery percentage for some reason looks very small as well as the names under the apps. I decided to use the bold text feature for the UI which helps with the smaller text. I've mainly used it for reading with the Kindle app and streaming video like Netflix, Hulu, etc. but I haven't integrated it still like I wanted to with Notion. Also going from 120hz on my iPhone 14 pro to the mini took adjusting to since it's only a 60hz display. Hope this helps!

I’ve just bought one and it was delivered yesterday! I am aware there could be a new one *very* soon but I’ve also seen just as many reports say it won’t be until the end of 2024, so we’ll see. Either way, I’ve heard it won’t be a massive upgrade, with the A16 Bionic chip being the highlight. I am usually cautious about when I buy new products so I guess I’ve surprised myself this time! I’ve got to say though, this is the iPad I’ve been needing for years and I’m so annoyed with myself for waiting so long to get it. What a tablet! As someone who has always thought the iPad is best served as a device for media consumption, I don’t think you can get better than the Mini with its small form factor that’s a breeze to place on your lap or use one handed. I’ve only had mine 24 hours but it’s the perfect bridge between my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my MacBook Air M2. Each device has its own purpose for me and despite my iPhone not being that much smaller than my new iPad, I don’t think I’ve ever used it for media consumption other than short social media clips. This iPad is fantastic to watch KZbin videos on, films on Prime, and use for social media. So far I’ve been really impressed with the battery life, too, and the design is gorgeous. I can see why Apple are rumoured to only be planning on minor upgrades for the 7th generation. This is the winning formula right here. The screen is obviously small and it’s pretty awful to type on, but for emails, producing documents or even just long web browsing sessions, I use my MacBook. I’ve also noticed the lack of Promotion coming from my iPhone, but for what I use it for it’s fine. Overall, a great tablet. And if you’re like me and feel the iPad is best as a media device and the MacBook best for work, you should love the Mini 6, even as a purchase now.

Since switching from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the 15 Pro, I’ve been finding myself wanting a slightly larger screen for reading and video watching for the bedside. I now understand the appeal of the Mini and want one myself. Only thing is how noticeable the screen quality and refresh rate on the Mini 6 is versus my 15 Pro.

I have an old Samsung galaxy tab E, which, as you can imagine is slower than walking through knee-deep mud. However, it’s still does work adequately. I’m considering the iPad mini six to supplement my iPhone. Cheers!

I had one in 2012 onwards I was based in the Far East and travelled a lot internationally for my job. I added a logitec keyboard which also added good protection. I flew economy 😂, the combination of keyboard and the size of the mini was still very useful squished into an economy seat. I loaded 3 of 4 films for entertainment, did a ton of emails and in 2014 realtime chat became available. So if you travel a lot, think about a smaller device.

I bought the base iPad mini six about a year ago and then returned it and got the larger storage and Cell enabled version. I use mine on the road take it to tradeshows take photos and put notes on the photos with the Apple Pencil plus the usual access to OneDrive my office documents, and Netflix. I love the smaller form factor for what I do. I was thinking of holding out a year ago for the iPad mini seven. Glad I did not this more than meet my needs unless they do a serious upgrade to the M series chip and series upgrades to the screens most likely I will stay with what I have. Apple is too notorious for incremental upgrades even on older models such as the iPad mini six. another great video. Thanks for putting these up.

I got the iPad Mini 6 about 7 months after it was released. I love it and it's one of my favorite devices. Am I thinking about upgrading? No. I can't see any major updates besides a faster processor, better screen, better battery life, etc. But with a good processor, a good screen, and good battery life on the Mini 6, I can't see myself upgrading. But, that's not to say that I don't recommend purchasing the iPad Mini 7 when it does come out. Apple has a good product with the Mini 6, and they only need to sharpen the saw with the iPad 7.

Just bought one today, with a nice $100 discount. Here is why I bought it… After 4 years, 11 months and 10 days, my 1 TB 2018 iPad Pro just died. Getting it fixed was gonna cost as much as a mini. I use an iPad every day, it has always just worked for me. I loved having that massive storage drive at first, but in reality outside of video, never really had more than 30-40GB filled up at any given time. I use cloud storage more and more, including a web connected home storage server. And the support for SSDs, meant I always just worked off my 2TB Samsung drive if I needed space. Never really loved the size, 11in is just a bit too awkward. I used an A5 notebook for years, for school, work, journaling. The mini is basically an A5! Lastly, I buy something when I need it - it’s not really about the money or the product cycle. Don’t get me wrong, those are important factors, but not always the most. If I have learned anything about iPhones and iPads, it is that 2 years into a product cycle is definitely less than half of the products actually lifecycle, and with the A15 chip going into the iPhone 14 from last year, I am guessing there are a solid offering of updates left in that chip. All the stars aligned - and I finally got the purple mini 6 I have been eyeing for the last 2 years!

I bought my iPad mini 6, upgrading from an iPad mini 5, as soon as it was released. I use it a lot everyday, particularly as a laptop companion devise at work as well as the usual streaming, media consumption and I love it. I wouldn’t upgrade simply for a spec bump and feel with its modern design, decent chip set and in a form factor that works for me I can get a couple more years out of it yet. Only doubt I have is whether the 64GB memory I have will be sufficient into the future. Great device though.

If you don't use it for gaming. I think 64gb still enought into the future.

I love my iPad Pro 11” 2018 but since buying an M1 MacBook Air, I’m thinking a Mini will be a better companion device for its portability. Then, when I compare my 2018 iPad Pro specs with iPad Mini 6, I’m unimpressed, so waiting for the iPad Mini 7, or even 8, until it feels like a significant upgrade.

My friend, I was one of those that impulsively rush in get an Amazon last end of the year special iPad Mini 6 256gig. I realized right I way that having an M2 iPad Pro to do most of my illustrations work the use of such a small iPad will be totally a waste of money, boy that I was so wrong. I used my iPad Mini more than my iPhone 14 Pro, and is part of my essential item to every where. My only regret is not getting the WiFi + Cellular one. I'm waiting for the 7th Gen to be more peppy with a M1 chip or minimum a A17 Pro. I'm not on a hurry to wait because I'm enjoining my iPad Mini but for my demanding it require a good boost.

Still using an iPad Mini 5... and an the Apple 1 pencil. I use it for couch surfing, note taking and planning as well as reading. Works for me, but I have been eyeing up an upgrade and will wait for a bit. My issue is the pen charging, good cases (still use the Apple mag cover) and what my main needs are. If the 7 comes out, I would seriously consider it.

To answer your question about who the 10th generation iPad is for: it's for people like me, I just bought one because I wanted to have ease of access to write down notes in my class as well as to draw and the reason I went with that one is because it was significantly cheaper (on black friday) than the iPad air and it had USB C charging which as an android user makes it really easy for me to not have to fumble around with different charging cables

I have recently bought used mini 6 because I wanted a "kindle" for other media than reading text (movies, anime, manga etc.) and for photo editing. It's the only apple product I own and I must say it's pretty great. Would I prefer an android tablet? probaby, mainly for sideloading... but there is no decent android tablet with that size and proportions.

I wish apple would introduce a two or even three year product cycle, it is simply not necessary to upgrade to a new product every year especially when the performance gains are so minimal, a new products should only be launched when it's completely redesigned.

While I am sure Apple would love for you to update every year I don't think the goal is for you to do so. For example when the released the first iPad mini. Apple knows not everyone will get it but those hold outs might get the 2nd version and the ppl that bought the first one will probably want the 3rd version or perhaps the 4th. But again I don't think they are expecting the millions of us to upgrade every year

If Apple really wants to introduce iPad Mini 7, the spec i want the most was: - Same screen size as iPad Mini 6 but less bezels - Upgraded chipset (A16 Bionic is realistic) - 120Ghz and upgraded LCD screen - 256GB as based storage. Up to 1tb storage option

I have a 2nd gen iPad Pro and love the form factor of the mini. I love the uniform bezels-even if some people think it’s thick. The price, though is CRAZY. I’m looking on the used market and can’t find a decent one for under $350 (and that’s for the 64gb model). I would like for them to make a $350 model with the same form factor and gen 2 pencil support because I ain’t paying $500 for the mini version. Remember when the first iPad mini came out? It was, like, $300 and it was totally popular because it was actually affordable.

I’m on the fence, I currently use my iPad Air 2, I’m on it right now, but the battery is toast, unless the iPad is plugged in it dies in about 5 minutes. So ya, I need a new one. I’m on the fence about buying a new iPad or going with a laptop. True, I can do more things with a laptop, but I like the portability of my iPad, (well before the battery crapped out). But is the iPad still worth the money? Any insights or opinions?

Honestly, being a 40 something y/o techie with some neurological and arthritis issues that cause some issues with prolonged usage of tablets and phones…. That being said, I would absolutely love to see Apple make a “Pro” Version of the iPad Minis. Don’t get me wrong, I love my 4 year old iPad Pro 11” but it is not the easiest to carry around with me as part of my EDC… And honestly, I love my iPad Air 4 as well, but it is also not the easiest device to carry around as part of my EDC. And like you, I need my iPad Pro for not only keeping my daily life organized, but for my job as well, and I need something that would be easier to carry around as part of my EDC. Secondly, due to my graphic design, 3D Model Design & Printing, and Consulting business, I truly prefer the “Pro” level hardware and added features that come with the iPad Pros…. and while I would probably keep my 4 y/o iPad Pro 11” as a “at home device”, the better hardware and extra features that come with it (especially the true external display support) would make it a great option for replacing my iPad Pro in my daily life and my EDC. Hell, honestly, if Apple ever really came out with a truly powerful “folding” iPhone with a large enough screen when open, USB-C, true external display support, and Apple Pencil 2 and 3 support, I’d probably ditch any tablet from my EDC and just carry that foldable iPhone with me every where. LOL….

I want a Mini to use mainly as an e-reader, but don't want jelly scrolling, which would be particularly bothersome on an e-reader. I intend for it to last for years, and don't want to get one now and regret it when a new model appears this or next year, so I'll wait the whole of 2024 if necessary.

Have been wanting to buy an iPad mini since sometime now however am now confused between iPad mini and a fold phone, simply due to smaller form factor, pocketable and more general sense, I also do carry 2 phones (iOS+Android) so contemplating if I should upgrade my 1+ 5t to foldable or get a mini, will decide after the upgraded version of Mini comes tho :)

I have an 11" 2022 Pro model and to be honest, I plan to switch to the mini soon. I am holding out a bit, essentially, I plan to buy myself whichever mini is available for christmas. I truly hope they do update the mini though, as the biggest thing preventing me from upgrading when i traded in my 12.9" pro for the 11" was the relatively large spec downgrade and the fact that the "jelly-scrolling" issue was a big thing at the time. I personally believe if Apple were to make a pro version of the mini, it would sell like hot cakes because a lot of people I know who have Pro's say theyd rather the smaller form factor.

I love my mini6.. got it over the summer after many years with a 4.. my iPads always been more of a personal/ recreational device, KZbin, web browsing, texting, occasional sketches, etc. nothing too demanding so I don’t really feel any need to upgrade. I probably use it just about as my MacBook. Have it paired with a speck folio and a cheap pencil from Amazon. It’s a great little compact and capable setup! I’ve been saying it for a long time, I’d LOVE AN IPAD MINI PRO!!!! I use mine for heavy workloads and need to be super portable with what I do. The mini is the BEST iPad and I’d absolutely love to have it be a pro, with an M-Series chip. Even if it’s slightly heavier, and a smidge thicker it would be absolutely awesome.

Agreed. I have the mini 6 and it’s fantastic. Especially for travel. I also have the iPad Pro 12.9 with M1 chip. Nothing I do stresses its hardware so not getting a new one any time soon. The only way I get a new mini is if it has pro-motion or a new iPad Pro, if it can be used as an external monitor. Apple could generate popular and increased sales of tablets if they made their top tier models for gaming. Newest and popular indie games can run a potato pc. A iPad can def run most of them. There’s a constant need for hardware bumps year after year for gaming. You don’t need the lastest or greatest chip set and gaming gpu to check emails, browse the web, use it as a e-reader and watch KZbin which most ppl use iPads for.

I have an 11” iPad Pro that is a few years old with a Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2 that I love. I also have an iPad Mini 6 that I bought for a specific purpose, and while it is fine I use it far less than I thought I would. Frankly there are too many iPad and pencil models. Maybe Apple is rethinking the line.

Actually writing from my iPad mini 6 with bose QC ultra on which I am still trying to decide what to do for with 200 euros less i could buy the qc 45 on Amazon. Maybe I will trust you when you say they worth every euros. About the iPad i do not have great expect for this year like promotion or 120 hertz but let’s see. I’m going to get an iPad Mini after the Mini 7 is released with a decent amount of storage (256gb or 512) and with the wireless data option. It needs to support the newest Apple Pencil and have a better refresh rate and of course better processor. Better battery life would be welcome even if it had to be a bit thicker.

I purchased the iPad mini and will be returning it. The Touch ID makes the iPad feel broken once you are use to Face ID on the iPad Pros. I feel I am trying to perform telekinesis on the iPad and it just doesn’t work.

I have an iPad Pro 11inch M2. I used it for college but I had to withdraw from course. I am thinking of selling it.I really need the money right now. However I want another IPad but not sure whether to get basic iPad, Air or mini. The storage is a problem because I take a lot of photos on phone and edit on iPad so would have to go with 256GB which is going to cost me around £700. I'm almost sure about getting the 3rd gen 11 inch iPad Pro, unless the Mini comes with an M1 chip, 120hz rr, and is starting at 128gb storage capacity, which altogether is quite unreal

Mini 7 should have: 1. 120hz (Apple won’t do this) 2. Lidar and basic camera upgrade (Apple won’t do this) 3. A17 Pro or M1 (realistically A16) 4. Cellular with calls (really needed, but a long shot) All in all, apple will only upgrade the processor and possibly the display to pro motion, usb might get upgraded to 3.2

It won't have an M chip, just telling u now. Because the normal ipad won't be having the M SoC in them. They've already mentioned that. The 6 in cellular, can already make calls. There's just a way of getting around it from other YT tutorials. Why do u need an upgrade in the camera?... Do u want 2 or 3 lenses?

Wait for the 7, price of the 6 might go down. The iPad mini 6 is the best tablet I’ve had ever, hands down. (I’ve had other iPads, tablets from Samsung, Sony and others). Only downside for Apple is that the iPads I’ve had have lasted a good 6 years, though I pass them onto family members to get updates). I use paper like and love it. The updates I’d be most interested in over my iPad 6 is wireless charging and longer battery life.
