My cars are 10, 15, and 52 years old. 'new' 2025 year cars scare the cr@p out of me for how complicated and fragile they are. New cars are virtually unrepairable. Run them for a few years and they are then worthless.

The U.K. motorists seems stuck in the 70’ where mileage is concerned, I worked in the trade for over 22 years, 80K miles car needs £550 spent on it, oh high mileage I’ll sell it, so they spend £10K on a car they have no idea what could be wrong or how much they may need to spend, modern engines up to around 2015 ish (anti pollution emissions have made them much more complicated after,)old will do 200k miles plus easily as long as looked after, taxis often do this, maintain as required, don’t wait until the MOT when their maybe two or three small jobs needed, oil and filter very important engine and gearbox, especially with turbo engines, avoid the stealships, find a good specialist, EGR valves often just need cleaning, direct injection engines don’t have fuel going over inlet valves.

There's something about making the car your "own". If you bought the car, used or new, and it has that timeless design, it makes sense to keep it and upgrade or just maintain the stock look and feel. Some cars are just for gettin around, A to B type cars. Those are just throw away cars (which seems like a big waste of money to me). I personally love just tinkering, bringing the life back or making it just a little bit better. Nothing major like adding forced induction on a NA engine. Suspension probably my most favorite. Its an instant change, something an engine tune really doesn't do. Especially on cars like bimmers or other, right out of the box, highly tuned machines.

Great idea. I’m upgrading my 2000 Isuzu Trooper into a Porsche 911 GT3, very simple, just need a few cheap parts…

All my cars got an upgrade on looks. Would be awesome if I could add pics here ;) I never really touched the performance purely because I dont have enough experience with performance upgrades. Exhausts or K&N air filters was the most Id do. Make your car your own Ive been doing that since I first drove cars. Personalized 5 cars so far with paintwork, body kits, sports exhausts rims and graphics. If I do buy a replacement it's mainly because what I had was high in KM's or I needed extras doors or a turbo for more power.

Well I am looking for a new one because mine has 250k km on the clock, Opel (Vauxhall) Astra J vrom 2010 with the 1.7 diesel engine. I had several things fixed and a stage 1 tuning and it drove me around for a solid 50k km but I changed jobs and now I only drive 20km one way country road to my workplace, so it barely gets up to temperature. I can say stage 1 tuning was an amazing upgrade, which really puit some life into the engine, especially at lower rpm. I also bóught it at a high mileage to begin with as I had to get "any" car at that point in time and this one was cheap and in good condition. Now I want something newer, more power (currently around 150ish HP, I want 200+) and more luxurious things in it. (It has heated seats but the driver seat usually just turns of after a minute due to too high resistance, something is broken.) Really enjoying your content mate. :)

Honda 2.2 DTEC, I expect up to 2030 no problems with LEZ (Euro 5). 200000km now, I drive 35K a year now, so will have reached 375000km by then. In one year : clutch, flywheel, AC condensor, radiator suspension kit (KW), upgraded brake rotors and pads, new suspension arms, linkages etc. some preventive because sooner or later it will wear out. This car drives really well, quick 180bhp and 440nm, and does 45mpg. Why should I consider something else? Still looks good too, slapped on hybrid logo for fun.

i've a 2008 Honda CRV with 167,000mi on it. no plans to sell, i'd like to drive it until at least 300,000mi. However, i am keeping my eye on a reliable and easy to maintain (diy) replacement. possibly a 2018 Rav 4 when the time eventually comes. possibly a 2016 CRV, but i'm not sure about the CVT transmission, manual gearbox is not available in my region.

I was interested in upgrades at one point, but ultimately, these upgrades reduce the value of the car even more. Best to keep it stock.

Well my life situation change and i need a car that can tow a small trailer. I could install a tow hook on my ipace, but i could also just buy a small diesel honda civic that would do that job much better.

I have a Mazda mx5 nc 2011, I can do all the maintenance my self strip it down, can upgrade in loads of ways , suspension, brakes , engine .you can't do that with a new car with all the electrics, ECG, you have to have a computer to talk to it . But the government don't won't you to play with your cars . Going electric , they won't you to use public transport, they just pricing people off the road, And putting pressure on manufacturers to sell ,cars no one can afford,or won't?. There's is no enjoyment in owning a car anymore?. It's just a means to get to work, and run the kids about?.

Not for me. Have to inform insurance , probably cost more. Happy with what I have no modifications. Goes against your last video for advanced driving. Can’t have it both ways.

Your insurance company and others wrip off drivers at every opportunity, fit different wheels same sizes and they want to charge us more, report that someone has hit your car, they want to increase your !!! Premium !!?? an ECU remapping does not show up, and without special software is undetectable, but often give much better MPG as made for a specific location, not a massed product one, one design fits all, make a claim if car stolen and they continually offer very low price, supposedly it should be market value lol I had to send 6 different adverts to show my stolen car year value was selling for around £2300 more than they had offered, wake please they are crooked.
