Thank you so much. I'm trying to get serious about learning everything I can about PLCs and the software involved.

Stupid question time, can you use your legal name instead of a company name when ordering, for say private use? And when I "submit" an order, can I put anything for PO? I don't know if you pay online or a form comes in the mail.
@TimWilborne Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about payment because I order through my local distributor. I would reach out to Rockwell.

One question though. Some software companies include free upgrades to newer versions with the subscription service, Microsoft Office for example. Would this be the case as well with the Rockwell software, or are you stuck with the version you initially download/subscribe to? If you get to upgrade with a subscription, I think the subscription may end up being the better option. At least for a person/company doing automation/system integration.

You can pay for support, which I recommend, and it includes software upgrades.

Make sure you have your pop-up blocker off or you cannot download now.

Thanks for the video, Tim. I wish I could use rs500 legally/free(or cheap) for my micrologix 1400 I got from work.

If I was starting out today, I would look at the Micro800 line which includes a built in simulator. twcontrols.com/micro800-connected-components-workbench-lessons

Allen bradley is mostly great except for the pricing "ouch", and you never own it but at least they can't ding for new firmware releases.

I don't know. Connected Components Workbench for free and Studio 5000 for less than 400 bucks a year at the lowest level? I think they've made it affordable enough.

The price that I need was roughly 3000 a year which is the Full version of studio 5000@@TimWilborne

But if you are at the skill level that you need that, then you should be charging. I hear this complaint every week but the math just doesn't add up to what people say.
