This is my favorite video--I sure miss these two! This is better than the old "who's on 1st" skit with Abbott & Costello! The funniest thing I remember from one of these gift exchanges was some Monkey Butt Powder. A prim lady opened it and was so surprised, she said "What.....is this?!!". I laughed my head off and stole it so she could pick something else.

It's still so hard watching these videos knowing this beautiful couple has already passed on.. They we're so beautiful! Every marriage should be like this.. I tried 3 times, two lasting 21 years, now I'm alone, it's ok I'm happier now.. Some of us are to gullible more than others.. Jesus has these precious people now, thank you Jesus...

I've been playing Ms. Phyllis and Mr. Bucky's videos all week. I get really sad seeing them and wanting them back. I know they are together in heaven, but I sure do miss them. It makes me realize how fragile life is and how we should be so grateful for the people we love while they are here on earth.

This is hysterical and Im so glad they filmed it. Its super cute how dedicated they are to figuring this out! Reminds me of when I was a child and my Uncle was in the Navy and we would send cassette tapes of the family talking to him and he would send one back to us and everyone would try their best to fill the tape... Very endearing

I am just watching this today, and I have fallen in love with the both of you. I love the way you talk to each other without getting angry. It makes me realize how intense we are. I wish we could have calm conversations like you do. If I said that the whole world is going to know that you got got me Whitman's chocolates... someone would take great offense and storm out of the room. I love the respect you show one another. ONe time my dad bought my mother for Christmas a huge table saw for the garage!!!! True story. He wanted a table saw and that was her gift. They divorced after 15 yrs.

*I hope to get much joy watching this video for many Christmases to come. Such loving and caring simple people. The best gift ever for them both was one another and they knew it* 1986 was the last year I really ever did anything special for Christmas. I fell in Love that year. been single and alone every since. Relationships just aren't for everyone. I get much joy seeing happy kids on Christmas though. for me that is what it is all about.

I used to get a mini Whitman's Sampler in my stocking every year. It was always my favorite stocking stuffer. My in-laws always did a White Elephant type exchange. One year the gift I gave was a pair of pink bunny slippers. I thought my two (adult) nieces were going to come to blows over them! Everyone still remembers that year. It was a hoot.

Taking whatever previously opened gift: Dirty Santa. At least, that’s what we call it here in Nashville. Makes for a fun time at the office Xmas party. We always had this rubber chicken that you were obligated to re-introduce at the following year’s party if you got it. Mostly, the whole event was about the laughing! I sure miss those days. Thanks for the reminder!

My late husband was a confirmed bachlor & we never married till he was 38 so he really didn't have experience on buying women gifts, but he always told me to go buy what I wanted & he would pay for it. This was what I went thru for all the duration of our wonderful marriage. He was very happy with the gifts I bought him, having a dad, 3 brothers & 2 sons I knew what type of gifts men liked.

Phyllis, I have been watching past video's you filmed with you and Mr. Bucky. This video is probably one of my favorites. I haven't laughed so hard in many year's. By the time you shared the re-gifted curlers story and Mr. Bucky suggesting he give motor oil or WD-40 for a Christmas gift, I was in absolute tear's from laughing. Thank you for sharing such sweet memories with us all. God Bless You and Mr. Bucky. :)

My family (cousins, grandparents, etc) had this White Elephant event for our Christmas Eve dinner and gift opening one year. We could choose either the previous person's already opened gift, or choose a new unwrapped one. I'll tell you, I had never seen my family outright fighting and yelling at each other until that year!! We never did that again!!
