I ended up with a 10k chain to wear everyday solely because of my line of work. Two of my coworkers have had 14k and up chains and bracelets get scratches and break. My 10k chain has been caught on similar things and hasn't had the same issues. I will say that 14k is a better investment and for looks down the road as they age. But, for me, the durability from 10k can't be beat, just take care of it and it will shine for years and years.

You can have a 20k thin necklace or you can beef it up and add some alloys to turn the gold into 10-14k

I have a 10k 22in 5mm yellow gold figaro chain and I can tell you that it’s totally worth it bc of durability and it’s super shiny. I wear it literally everyday (even work out with it). I really like buying mainly 10k and 14k gold. I don’t really see why people hate on other people for getting less than 18k gold. After all, even if it’s 8k, there’s still gold on there.

Here in Britain we use 9ct gold. It is a lot stronger and durable than 14k but I prefer the lustre of 14k.

I just bought a 10K Mariner with a 10K pharaoh pendant. I was worried because I can’t not wear anything fake or that contains nickel. I break out bad. So I was worried to buy the 10k. Wore it for 3 straight days no issue. To be honest it’s all personal preference. I’m not buying gold as a investment to cash in when gold raises in price. To me, 10k is still gold even though it’s less gold than 14k. If you want it to last, 10k. If you want an investment, 18k. 14k is a happy median.

Nickel will usually only be found alloyed in white gold. Yellow gold is alloyed with copper most of the time. That's probably why you didn't have an allergic reaction.

I just got a 6 mm 24 inch 10k gold rope chain and I love it! The place I get jewelry here in Texas it’s only limited to 10 karat gold chains, there’s other karats of gold there to get, just not for chains. So that’s what I’m limited to but either way I dont even really see the difference between 14k to 10k anyway lol so I’m a happy camper

I know this is an old video, but I’m not sure about 10K tarnishing/getting dull. My father in law had a nice 9K chain. When he died (almost 17 years ago), my husband gave me the chain. He prefers 14K/18K yellow gold , white gold or steel. Well, I wore that 9K chain for the longest. Now our daughter wears it. My husband said his dad had that chain since my husband was in his teens. My husband is in his late 40’s so that chain is at least 30 years old. I’ve never had it professionally cleaned or anything. Just the occasional over the counter gold cleaner. Teenager is wearing it, so this is the first time we’ll have to get it repaired because she broke the link next to the clasp. Chain was made in Turkey though. So maybe it all just depends on where you buy it.

In Portugal most of the gold is 19,2k,and people normally don't want to buy less than that for several reasons. Middle eastern gold is the best by the way,so I guess most of them can look at gold from other places like nothing special at all lol By the way,gold is always a good investiment and you can never go wrong using it. I always suggest to save a little more to buy the gold with more carats available in your country.

My last chain was a nice size 10kt Franco I had for 8 years, got compliments every time I wore it and I never got it polished or cleaned. +NoKreativeUsername that's a good questions. Most of the chains on the market are true to the gold stamp. They're all machine made. As far as pendants and other jewelry made, it's really up to the jeweler. I haven't seen it that often though. Most of the jewelry out there is indicated correctly. It's the mislabeling of other things that are shady.

Jay O'Reilly you are getting ripped off my man. Learn to do math. For 5 grand you can get a solid 8mm 14k Cuban link easily. Gold is $1330/ozt, a 100 gram 14k chain is 58.3% gold, which is 58*$43/gram which comes out to just under $2500 of gold. Tack in labor, normal markups, etc and you get to like 35-45 per gram of 14k which is like 30-38 per gram of gold. If you pay what you say then you are getting ripped off horribly. Jacoje has legit prices for legit chains.

For us Asians it's rare you see us with 10 or 14k. Most Asians wears 24k. I personally preferred 18k because of the shines. I only wear 18k May not be alway Asian gold but ONLY 18K. However yes 18k is expensiver I perferred to stick with Asians gold because of the values. If I want to sale it back I don't lose too much of the labor cost. I get back 90 to 95 percent back. I paid 1200$ for 18k back in the early 2000 I sold it and got 900$ back.

Here is the thing let’s say you have a 10k rope chine that is 10grams and the same chain in 14k the 14k Will weigh more then the 10k because gold is heavier then silver and there is a bit more gold in 14k. With that being said it’s not just $5-$7 dollars more a gram it’s another gram or two PLUS $5-$7 more per gram. So yes 14 is a lot more then 10k in the end. Now a days you get the same look as you do with 14k out of a 10k. You need to look at the scrap price when buying gold. You will see that a 10gram 14k chain will bring you $30-60 more then the same chain in 10k but you paid 33% more for the 14k chain retail and that could be hundreds of dollars more todays gold price is $1217 an OZ so you shouldn’t pay more then $31.00 a gram for 14k and no more then $24.00 for 10k. If you do your getting ripped off. Sorry but this is the truth.

Thats’s because you got a lot. Compared to other kts it’s cheap. Get the same chain in 14k and you’d pay $10 extra for every gram in your chain, and $20 more per gram for 18. That adds up, that’s like a $1200 difference on a 60 gram chain

10kt gold is 41.7 % pure gold rest is other metals. So its definitely not fake my dude. With 14kt you get 58,5% pure gold plus a little deeper richer color to it. Might add to greater feeling of authenticity knowing you have more gold weight. But as a everyday wear you should be confident in your 10kt

I'm in australia and they sell as low as 9k gold. I find 9-10k gold look almost silver under the sun there is hardly any yellowness left. they don't sell anything above 10k in most stores in australia. I own 3 24k chains as I'm chinese background how ever they always be breaking cos so damm soft. think about getting some 18k gold so there isn't too much color difference. cos when I put my 24k gold next to 10k gold. 10k don't even look like gold haha

JACOJE LYNX they do sell 14k and 18k but that's only if you go to specialized jewellery stores and being australia its over the top expensive just like anything else here. you'll think australia would have good gold for sale since u know we produce them but no... :/ most people here wear 9k and under the sun I can't tell if its gold or silver chain.
