More the craftsmanship then the price of gold. Huge premiums on jewelry
@Crmjewelers3 жыл бұрын
You're incorrect. The price of the gold is a lot greater than the mark-up for craftsmanship. The only way that wouldn't be the case is if you're being ripped off.
@tntwentyone29513 жыл бұрын
@@Crmjewelers if 1 wanted to invest in gold there are far better ways to invest in gold then buy jewelry. The chain is epic I appreciate it takes time and effort which is why the cost of making add a premium to the jewelry piece. However if we broke down the math on this piece . . .
@Crmjewelers3 жыл бұрын
I'm not arguing with you there. If you're sole purpose is to invest in gold, then bullion is a better option than jewelry any day of the week. The clients who but chains are doing it mainly because they like chains, not because their main purpose is to invest in gold.

I know gold prices vary and go up and down...... however; what we are all wondering. At the end result (24in, 12mm, 14k) roughly how much would that Cuban chain be worth now?
@Crmjewelers3 жыл бұрын
Good question. At the current price of gold, the final chain would cost around $11,000 USD. We updated the Cuban link section of our website, which includes historical pricing charts vs Google Trends data for Cuban link chains from 2004 until the end of March 2021. Interesting trends. Here's the link in case you would like to look into that further: www.crmjewelers.com/jewelry-accessories/cuban-links/.

Not sure if this question was asked yet, but what is the substance that is put on the chain when it is laid flat just before filing it down? Is it some sort of wax or adhesive to make it stay flat and straight so it can be filed down easier? Really cool video!

some sort of electro cleaner. Has a low voltage current running to it and a chemical in the water that reacts to the current. If you look you can see the black cord hooked directly to the chain and the red cord ran to a plate thats down in the water, so when he puts the chain into the water it completes the circuit. We do this at the store i work at as well.
