About a year ago I bought this 1930 Ford, in this video we do the first drive and a walk around. What should I change on the car? Go back to stock? Diesel swap? :)

I have two 30’s Tudor and a coupe. They always make me smile when driving them too. Getting ready to retire soon and may sell them both so those who always wanted one can enjoy as much as I had for about 12 years now.😁 We become caretakers for a while, and then pass them on…

Looks like a really solid original car! Remember it is only original once! I'd try to keep anything original that I could. That's a replacement hub cab; the original ones were stainless steel.

Outstanding! Great to see a younger person own an A ! Please, please, please, DON'T install a diesel. She's absolutely perfect. Make her safe, steering, brakes, all the fluids, lights ,and drive her. Very fortunate to have found her.Oh yes, the carb setup, ahhhhhh GET yourself a Zenith that's been redone and you'll love it. Great job,and good luck.

Thanks for sharing your videos, it reminded me of my first drives when I got my 31 Fordor, all those same sounds, and all that bouncing around! Yes, I agree even after 3 months owning mine (here in the UK). I have a permanent stupid grin on when I drive mine. You got to grips with the gears quicker than I did! Learning to double de clutch (mine needs it up, and down the box) was a bit like learning to drive all over again, and I'm 76! The right hand leaver is (in your case 'was') the hand throttle. Your modern Dizzy means you don't have to play with the left Advance/Retard ignition leaver, which actually is fun to use trying to match what the engine wants at different rpm. Anyway enjoy your Model A, they are great fun, and other road users are so kind, considerate and patient I have found, which makes a change in our ratty modern times!

Paul Shinn channel is a great channel with loads of info on the Model A. Those ar such fun cars I myself is thinking about getting one I would really love a 1932 ford but those things are so expensive and hard to find a good one because many were used as Hot Rods and still are today but the modal A is really cool.

Always push the spark lever up and the gas lever down a little. If you don’t push the spark lever up you stand the chance of breaking the starter spring. You can turn the chock knob a little this will make it run better you can tell by the sound of the engine

It’s in pretty nice original condition. Did you have someone teach you how to double clutch? You don’t need 12 volt. Just make sure the wiring is new and your starter and general are rebuilt and you’ll be fine. I drive a 1923 model T daily with 6 volts … no problem.

Couple years ago a friend gave me an extremely rare but near worthless stock low mile 32 4 door orphan car no wood in body. 60 hp, won't go. Mechanical brakes, won't stop. Tractor steering, won't turn. Extremely unsafe in urban traffic. Upgraded to 300 6, 3 speed synchro, 9" 3:10 gears, front disk brakes, AC, power steering, steel moon roof, proper lights, wipers, door latches and 3 point restraints. Other than 4" lower and 15" wheels looks original. Fun to build and now good for urban traffic and freeway, goal was efficient smoother cruiser. Car weight 2800 lbs nothing to that engine. Otherwise would have ended up a crap rod or garage artifact. Had to extend the front for the 300 which made it a lot better looking. We all prefer a longer front bit.
