You know what is amazing to me about this chateau: is that the home is even livable since it sits in the water. I’m shocked that the whole home isn’t covered in mold. Which of course speaks to the structural integrity and the engineering marvels of their day. I’m very impressed. Good work folks!

I think I read there are 45,000 chateau in the Loire valley alone. We don't have so many in the UK though many were demolished in the 20th century.

Beautiful love story! Your wedding right there in the Chateau of your life. I love this whole ide and you have truly gotten the best deal in the end. Yes, it was right for you both to have not had the other as it probably would not have worked out. This wil be much less work in the end although always work but some would be work that would never help you see any success aftr al the work is out into it I am sure. This will be the most lovely home to enjoy with family, friends ad the public who can come for musicals etc. Cannot wait to see the tunnels that is very exciting in deed! Underground hidden paths to help people hide an get away from the wars. Did you mention about it being a hospital once? Not sure, but thought I remembered it and if so that is quite a'' historical point'' too. Looking forward to this adventure! Thank you both!

Thats the trouble in France about the inheritance law if one sibling does not want to sell then it causes a lot of problems, and probably thats why there are so many run down buildings all over France. Can not wait for you to show the tunnels and the progress you have made on the rooms. Loved watching Phil

I read a book, a fictional book, whereby they bought a chateau with a moat and they worked on restoring the chateau and dredging the moat. Then they swam in it every night around their chateau! I love that picture of them swimming in the moat around the chateau!

I’m just so sorry for you both buying a chateau with a moat. The extra cost of maintaining the moat eats up costs needed to restore your beautiful castle. I care about you both and pray for your survival to carry on. 😊
