I Gave my Little Brother a Minecraft Axolotl in Real Life
In this video I buy a super rare axolotl that glows in the dark! We setup a 10 gallon aquarium for him at my house and he looks super happy! Like a real life minecraft axolotl! This was not a morph or rescue axolotl, but one from my friend's who breeds axolotls.

Please attention so many myths out there and I wanna make something clear Axolotls require 29 gallons minimum with 40 being the recommended Blood worms are not a good axolotl diet, they have no nutritional value instead feed them chopped up night crawlers or red wigglers Axolotls cannot be handled unless it’s an emergency or transporting it to another tank Axolotls like the temp of 64° F and May require a chiller or you can use an aquarium fan These are the basic care requirements if anyone has any other questions please do so ❤ good luck

Axolotls don’t require 30 gallons. As a baby they can be kept in 10-15 gallons. 20 gallons is a minimum, as they don’t move much and aren’t very active. 29 gallons do work but any size tank 20 gallons or above are good for axolotls. 40 gallons is a myth.

Make sure you don't bury the Anubis's rhizome, glue it to a rock or wedge it somewhere. They get nutrients from the water column and will rot if put in soil.

It's amazing that this kid is so passionate about fish, but he is quite clearly either not educated enough about animal care or he's way overwhelmed by the number of animals he's caring for. Either way, the dad needs to do a LOT better. I sincerely hope they read these comments and do some real research about the animals they have. I'm not an expert on breeding fish so I'll let others speak on that, but the turtle and bearded dragon are NOT in appropriate enclosures and don't have even their basic requirements met. That turtle needs a much larger tank, more water, a larger area out of the water, enrichment, etcetc.. The beardie - wow that was so heartbreaking I'm not even sure where to begin - larger enclosure, proper lighting/heat, appropriate substrate, enrichment, correct diet... and to be clean! George I know you're trying to support young people who love animals and that's an amazing thing to do, but I hope you'll do more to ensure the people you're platforming are caring for their pets. I wouldn't feel at all comfortable purchasing an animal from this company based on the level of neglect that was shown here. I get that it's a kid and I don't blame the kid for not being super well-informed or being able to keep up the maintenance on that many animals - but the dad needs to be responsible for them if the kid can't be. Based on the house it would appear they have quite a lot of money - whether or not that's accurate, these animals deserve to be cared for appropriately and right now they're not meeting even the most basic of bare minimum requirements. I seriously hope they'll see these comments and do better...

They never say how old it is, so it could just be young. Males vs Females are also very different in size too. About double thickness, they will be same length.

@@Mitcmacklol someone experienced can tell if the proportions of the lotl are off. Males and females don’t really grow any differently, if they did you’d be able to sex them long before 18 months of age. I wouldn’t doubt if this lotl was inbred, which would explain the potential dwarfism.

Duck weed and Java moss are great for axolotl tanks! They allow you to have a lit aquarium while providing tons and tons of shade and covering! My axolotls are doing great in an established planted tank they even breed from time to time

I typically really like your channel, and I never complain on any videos of anyones but I see a lot of mistake made in this video for an axolotl and I hope to see them improved. One they prefer dark room and the room at least shown in video has tons of light, axolotls do not have eye lids so having long exposure can cause many health issue. Second, no where did we check the water temperature, they need colder water and you will need a fan or a chiller to get these temps and we live in the same state and mine are in a basement and I can not hit the correct temps for axolotls without a fan. A chiller isn't required since we arent in a hot state but is always nice to consider. Third the water wasn't cycled and it always should be. (unless not shown in video but it seems to not be) I love axoltols but it is sad to see so many not giving them the proper needs they require and it is even more common now after minecraft. I would love for you to lead by example and improve our new friends living conditions as so many look up to you as a pet owner. :) Much love, hope to see progress.

Their waste is too big for the filter (but the filter is still important to keep the water clear and healthy). An easy way to clean their waste is to get a turkey baster just for the aquarium and always keep it nearby. Then use the turkey baster to suck out their waste when they go potty.

Like others have stated in the comments, the tank needs to be cycled and aa chiller/fan needs to be added for the water to be at 60-64 Another thing thou is that you shouldnt add sand until theyre at least 5-6 inches long. Axolotls are also tough to gender and typically take up to 18 months for their bits to show. I currently own 2(male and female) along with a bunch of babies

Love your channel, I've had axolotls now for almost a year they are the sweetest pets. I have 2 gold albinos and a lucy. Pop a feeding bowl into the tank that way your little floof ball doesn't eat too much sand. Enjoy your new little family member :D

Im so sorry but that kid needs to learn wayyyyy more turtles that size need almost 200 gallons of water with around a foot of land area, breads dragons need both a cool and warm spot and a tank bigger than a 60gallon, for thirty chiclids you need a 50g or more with lots of hissing space, the bettas need around 30g for the the bettas he has the water is so low and feces all of the floor of the tank, I’m al for small business, but come on he need to learn way more about the fish, before even keeping them, I recommend a month of research, before even buy the fish for personal care and no less than 4 months to be able to breed the fish. I really hope he learns and gets better
