I remember when Samsung first released their line of excavators in the US, we used to think they looked so futuristic with the curved front windshield. If you don't end up using the other excavator, you can swap the bigger undercarriage under this one and have a hybrid. It would compliment the taller bucket.

My company works on different equipment, but what is nice about watching this is that folks can see what it takes to get this stuff functional or set up to use. There is no user's manual, only experience and processes that apply to different things. Buying used gear cheap that you can repair or restore is always a better way to go if you plan on keeping it. We just replaced the entire drive train in one of our 98 dodge 1 ton 4x4's except for the axles, and it was still way cheaper than buying a new truck, and it's paid for! :) We really enjoy the vids, thanks!

Jesse, you can easily make that paint look like new. I did this on my motorhome. Wash the surface down with Dawn detergent. Then dab a wet scrubpad in a cleanser (I used Bar Keepers Friend) and lightly glide it over the painted surface and rinse with clear water before it dries. You only want to remove the crud, not the sound paint. When the surface feels smooth, wash the paint down with Dawn again. When the surface is completely dry put on a pair of long vinyl gloves. Get a liquid floor polish such as DEP from Home Depot or Lowe's. Pour some in a paint roller tray. Don't forget to put on the gloves. Dip a padded microfiber cloth into the polish and wring it out so that you apply only a thin coat of polish on the paint. ! gallon goes a long way. Too much polish and you will get unsightly runs that are almost impossible to remove. Apply the polish evenly across the surface. Let it dry between coats. You will see results immediately but you need at least 2 or 3 coats. I used 2 coats, got a high shine and the graphics came alive. H/D now sells ZEP in a Wet Look which should be interesting. When I got the motorhome it looked terrible. I scrubbed the 1992 E350 cab twice with auto polish cleaner and couldn't get the dead paint off. Using the above method gave the cab a showroom shine. Good luck. Don't forget the long gloves.

that sounds like alot of worker for an excavator thats already beat the hell and is only gonna get more punishment.. i dont think its really about having nice glossy paint i think its more so about having an even layer over everything so its not 3 different shades and rusty in 7 spots and bright marks wherever there used to be a sticker or mount

Wow, that new bucket is great! It appears to have bosses for a "pincher" attachment, for like picking up logs with the bucket as half of the "jaw". I think it's great to have a large deposit of parts for the one really good machine. Decal residue? The BEST I ever used for boats & cars is Maguire's Cleaner wax, scrubbed with a sponge polisher. Ghost outlines disappear. Hit it with Wax & grease remover prior to painting.

To fill in that huge gap after you made all those passes you can drop a long 1/2" bolt in there and weld it in and then trim off the length. Key stock will work, go to the scrap pile and find some steel to drop in there. I don't know about strength? But let's face it... it won't be "Less Strong" than where you gave up. Another option is to make a trip to the welding store and buy a few pounds of a larger rod? If any of those teeth snap off I can promise it will not happen at a convenient time. Nice excavator!!! 👍👍👍

You could always cut that long pin about 2” out from the bushing drill a hole and use a spacer with bolt to hold the pin in and just drill a hole in the middle of the flush pin and just bolt a piece of flat bar to hold the bushings in. Use a heat gun and a plastic body tool/bondo spreader to slide those letters right off. Never knew you could get those style weld on shanks, need to get some for my track loader as they are shot on it. Love the vids man, keep em coming.

Since watching you change the cab on your truck to now is miles of experience and so think that in the next short while, as in not a bunch of years but oh to be fair fifteen months or more of running your own company... you will have only to look back and smile and say to yourself "I did it!" and you did. Its not a new machine but the payments are in learning it and fixing it. I really hope that you repair the other one as until your able to move your own, I see that as a handicap.Nothing but a thing but not to hurry and cost you over common sense. I have a feeling that you might watch guys like Matt at Diesel Creek or Lets dig 18 with Criss and make plans or get ideas on how to bid paying jobs and make some real money. I don't know how the virus is affecting work there but hope its not pulling you down... mighty proud of you

Just watched the whole thing. Nice machine and the new bucket is a nice size. Those teeth on the side walls are really interesting, did they use it to load trees or something and weld them on afterwards? Those shims you cut in half: could have made them true flat with a lathe or mill or even pretty close with a bench grinder - idk if you have them available and idk if it really mattes all that much. The teeth size seems okay, put a tag on the pins of they ever fall out. Can't wait to see what you have planned with it and all the use you should get out of it! :)
