First of all, I am truly impressed with your work ethics, especially in teaching your sons to be a part of the projects! He is a real chip off the old block. The excavator has become a solid machine under you hands. As to the instrument panels scratched up screen, if it is plastic, you can use a plastics restorer to buff it back to nearly a new screen Great Channel to follow!

Those outer seals contain glass in them. When they stretch to go on they immediately stay that shape and size. The only way to get them back to the correct size is to compress them with a hose clamp. It’s pretty much an instant fix. Good luck and thanks for the great videos.

Hi Jesse! Kaiden is turning into a great little helper for you! I was so pleasantly surprised to see him operate the skidsteer and the excavator. Wow...he's growing fast. It always amazes me to see how many parts are needed when repairing machines. I think you're right about Deere wanting people to bring their machines into the dealers for repairs. They make more money that way. It's awesome that you can fix everything like you do. I think this will be a great new addition to your fleet, and I hope to see it in action. I'm normally not a fan of long videos, but no matter how long yours are, I watch the whole thing at one sitting. The time flies by. So entertaining, and at the young age of 72, I'm learning things that I really didn't need to know. But, you never know when it might come in handy. Take care!

I remember the time I took my nephew to the beach and he had a ball checking out all the fantastic "new" treasures to be found on the shoreline. A few days later in 35C plus temperatures I found the treasures he left under the seat. It took quite some time with the carpet cleaner pressure washer and a heap of deodorizer to make the car habitable again. Cheers Eric

What a fun video..ha your son got to run excavator and I bet the reward just hooked him on this machine.. Making that big spanner wrench was super kool and your comments about only service shop can do repairs is a long time effort by companies to foil self repairs.. At the end I heard you say you are buying your own hydralic hose maker is great.. I ask Andrew to buy one as he goes back and forth to an equipment shop to buy them.. I was around logging for 35 years and a buddy bought one 30 years ago and it paid for itself in 3 weeks.. No more waits on hoses or paying outrageous prices for hydralic hoses. I like how you do research before buying.. Great stuff here.. I enjoyed this video..

Also, Hitachi had made all John Deere excavators since they made their partnership. They only just recently stopped I believe.

Wonderful seeing you getting your son involved. You are building a good business and he looks to like the machines. Hopefully at some point in the future your other kids can help as well. A family run business is special, because the family will follow the way the father wants things done. So far all that you have shown is there is only one way to do a job, the right way. That example will do your kids well in life, no matter what they end up doing as they get older.

Nice work on your repairs Jesse, if I may say, I was screaming cut out the bent metal as soon as I saw it, you need to buy some sheet metal vice grips for cosmetic repairs. The back up rings don't wear out so just change the actual seals, put the seal puck in the freezer before you put the wear ring over the "o"ring then heat the seal ring in hot water to avoid stretching too far. Enjoyable video, thanks.
