What do you guys think? Would you have purchased this Yamaha Bolt? I must admit the Vance & Hines exhaust sounds pretty good!
@DarthVader-17016 жыл бұрын
I have that same exhaust on my 2014 bolt, but I also have the VO2 intake that is also made by Vance & Hines. The matte gray version is not a bad bike although I have heard that matte paint is a little bit tougher to maintain than clear-coated paint. The exhaust should not be making the check engine light light up unless the O2 sensor plug is loose or something because my bike does not have a check engine light on with the exhaust on.
@JonsMotoGarage6 жыл бұрын
@@DarthVader-1701 yeah, the seller was explaining that the previous owner removed the O2 sensor. Classic case of screwing around with stuff that shouldn't be messed with. That exhaust though! Appearance and sound are very high on my list for favs. Thanks for checking the vid!
@IcemanSam6506 жыл бұрын
I would have bought it if he came down on the price for the dent, easy fix and the check engine light isn't a big deal as long as you get a flash tune from Ivan.

@@JonsMotoGarage I'm trying to get an RSpec in the Phoenix area now and they're are many that have been sitting for way too much money for weeks and months. $3800 would seem like a steal if that check engine could be ID'd and fixed.

Hi from Belgium, I bought in the autumn a 2016 c-spec with 2000 km on for 6500 € which gave me some space to convert it with another exhaust and handlebars, the mini apes from Yamaha. Exhaust: got the VH slip-on with the db killer out and the sound is amazing. Now I have an (almost) new bike for the price of a new one but with the things on like I wanted them to. So happy with it, and we don't call it Bolt here, just xv 950. In the past, I saw your vid of your xv and helped me make the decision to buy one, cheers!
@powersportspete42706 жыл бұрын
The check engine light more than likely is from the 02 sensor being disconnected. That's pretty typical on those bikes when doing a full system vs. slip on. But I agree with you, honesty in the post can prepare the buyer for what they are facing, allowing them to research for possible causes and codes, or search for replacement parts for damaged items. Lots of great information in this video.

If your aware of any issues like dents & scratches , or engine lights 🤔 it should give you grounds for negotiation of at least a better price when buying a bike. After all , you don't want to pay full price & repair cost on top of your new purchase.

Yo man, I am looking into buying a bike and I am very much considering buying a used Bolt 950R 2014. It's in great condition, but has 22000km on it. I am either considering this bike or a brand new Rebel 500. Both for the same price, any tips?
@JonsMotoGarage5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...I've never ridden the rebel. If possible, try out both. Or at least sit on both and see what feels better. If you plan on doing longer rides, I'd go for the bolt.
