These women's pensions are about 100-150 euro per month, while the prices of electricity, food , medicine is similar to what's in Western Europe, it's not like they like it being there on the pavement selling some shit. The behavior you mentioned doesn't belong to Turkey or Bulgaria. It belongs Indian and its neighbour countries. In Turkey, if you want to show a mimic that means no or yes you just do the reverse what you said. For yes; head moves up to down, for no; head moves to the side to side.

Hes not rude, I would assume they understand he is a foreigner, it’s a language problem, and he is trying. I do understand they did not want to cut the sausage in half, but he was willing to buy half. That being said, I would have bought something if was something that I could use. None of what they were selling other than the alcohol and ginger did I recognize. He’s trying but his Bulgarian is not that good. When I travel even in the states, I and I assume he does as well, carry very little cash. I am new to this channel, very impressed by his friendliness and desire to experience the real culture as he is rarely ever in a typical tourist area. I lived in a Dutch colony for several years, all the visa’s and governmental paperwork was in Dutch. I never did become very fluent. He greats everyone with a friendly smile and a local hello or how are you!!. He’s got balls

Rakia, homemade, double distillation, is the best thing to drink in Bulgaria. When you've had too much to drink, your head is completely clear, only your legs don't want to do it anymore. :-)

Single distilled is great too but needs really great hygiene of the equipment. A friend makes single distilled rose, banana, elderflower, strawberry rakia and is great. That way you are able to keep better taste and aroma.
