Hi Kurt. Congratulations on all your videos. You are doing something that no one has done in Bulgaria before. You show the unknown Bulgaria. This is the real Bulgaria, which is not even known to the Bulgarians. You visited a few almost illegal distilleries, a market, became "friends" with Angel. By the way, BGN 20 for a walk in the Gypsy neighborhood was a bargain. You felt the difference between the north and the south of the country. You saw and showed us what folk psychology is, how many Bulgarians know other languages, what the hygiene is, the lack of infrastructure, how barbaric they treat live fish without realizing it. I hope you write a very nice study about life in Bulgaria. We look forward to your next videos. Good luck.

The fisherman with the white beard was talking about how the whole scenery might appear beautiful to some people and nothing much to others who have spent their whole life looking at it. He said that up until winter he goes out and catches fish everyday if the weather is good. He was talking about his little boat and was making jokes about it being a "Параход" or a Steamroller 😂. He said fishing is all he does and he enjoys it. Edit: When you walked up on him he was making some cover for the battery that was supposed to go on his boat. He was showing you the poster of the Burgas mayor who he said was mayor for the 4th time now. He said he does great things for the community and helps people out a lot. I'm not quite sure I think he's been beaten. I think he is naturally timid, I've seen dogs that were very very timid and shy of people. His tail was wagging the whole time, he could barely contain it A dog who was beaten would be so apprehensive approaching a stranger, the tail would be tucked under their butts and stay there, anticipating being hit.

Awesome video! Interesting perspective that some of us, Bulgarians, rarely see.I love how people's attitude changes when they see foreign people.. they become somewhat more humble. So when you met the nice fisherman (~14', he said that there is no fish there , and the way to the sea is long and tiring but still he has to go everyday and then he joked that the fish may come here or meet him mid way. When you said that it's beautiful village, he said that it may be beautiful for some but for those living there all life (50 years) it's nothing special anymore. And finally, he said that the whole village is very happy with their mayor who has been running for 4 mandates (not sure that's the term in English, but it's 4 years per mandate). I hope that helps Keep the good work!

Exactly and i think many people just don't get it! that's what Kurt channel is all about. Kurt is being Kurt trying to communicate with people using words he knows and trying to talk to them still as much as he can. People tell him "get someone local to help you to translate, it's frustrating etc". it wouldn't be the same then. I guess then he would be just one of many channels and that's what makes him different. He tries to communicate with people as much as he can even if they don't know each other's language besides like few words. That's what makes it unique. One of the reasons I watch his videos is his interaction with people.

Yoo Kurt, I literally started watching your videos 2 days ago and pretty much binged half of your adventures, what a life what an occupation. I was pleasantly surprised you have an adventure in my country and was struck to see you visited one of my favorite places from my childhood in this video. My grandfather was a fisherman in this village and I spent many suppers here with him and my grandma but we sold the property and I have not been there in years. This video struck a cord in my soul, you managed to catch the atmosphere of the place and some of the amazing characters which have been there for years. My only fascination is that you did not manage to find the biggest attraction of the village the big beached ship that is next to the beach area and the pier, you would have liked it. I am not sure it still operates as a hotel and a cafe but it is a sight to be seen for sure. You did manage to go to places however where I seldom ventured as a kid. I just want to make it clear that I do not blame you for not finding it at all, the whole place is like a giant maze, best of luck on your adventures, you allow other people to experience a bit of adventure when they are unable to in reality.

I admire you for that. A real tourism. Best way to feel different culture is to explore people and their kind of living. I remember how I got lost in town of Bodrum once and I felt really well walking around the houses

Hitchiking isn't a problem in Bulgaria. But my man, you're standing right after a curve in the road where the drivers can't see you and have no time to stop. And you were also going the wrong way, lol. Download google maps next time.

Oh.... Kurt... perhaps you should put a little viewer discretion note, on this one. I love all your videos, but I got a little queasy during that gutting. Safe travels, and keep doing what you do! It is awesome!

Dear Kurt, I’ve been following your videos at Africa as well. What a contrast- Bulgaria’s fishermen village with a few pensioners around and Africa where there are so many people and so many children despite of the misery surrounding everywhere. P.S. Just ask what you want to know in Bulgarian my dear, I could translate.

Bulgaria was created in 681 which makes it one of the oldest countries in Europe and the oldest slavic country. The Cyrillic alphabet which is used in many countries such as Russia was created in Bulgaria and it was the bulgarians together with the byzantine empire who spread the alphabet to Russia

Bulgaria IS the oldest country in Europe. And it's even older than 681 :)

Bruh... I literally have a house there, if only I found your channel sooner, I could've given you a lift for free and shown you around too.

Back in the days i used to rap. I ended up hooking up with a Bulgarian guy in Sweden (knas) and we formed a duo ( knas & bacardy). We ended up doing music with some of bulgarias finest back then (stancho, dj Uli G, Maria ilieva…) and even toured the country with one of bulgarias biggest bands (D 2). I just wanted to say that because this made my day because up till this day bulgaria still feels like my second home. And Im impressed by your laungage skills @kurt. By the way, rakia is usually chased with chopski (mind my spelling) sallad😂❤

bulgarians are not européans or white. You are middle east arab turkish. You live in a third world country. I would rather be african than bulgarian. Even africa have better country than bulgaria. You are depressed eastern europe
