Hi team, great to see behind the scenes; love your claim sales. On the Avengers Issue 125 you mentioned at 31:18; can't wait to get it in hand! Will likely submit it at Heroes Con, so will let you know how it goes with CGC grading.

Just curious. When buying a collection what do you pay the seller, percentage wise based on the current priceing?
@futurepastvintagecollectables7 ай бұрын
It really depends. I buy raw books (some people don’t), so era, title and condition really come in to play. Where a comic store would give $50 a long box, I typically come in double to triple depending on title. For key books, golden and silver age in any grade, high grade bronze or high demand moderns, I can pay up to 50%-70% of current value. Things that are hard to sell get the least and things that are easy for me to sell get the most. That’s my model, but most buyers aren’t even close to that. I sell a lot of books, so I need good books and I’m willing to pay.

The ring light isn’t on…is it just a tri-pod?
@futurepastvintagecollectables7 ай бұрын
We use the ring light when we film videos but during the claim sales we don’t use it because it causes a really bad glare on the comics

We do. I don’t think the hours we do our sales work very well though. We did some earlier shows just for the UK and Australia, but we aren’t quite there yet . We will do more in the future.

Nice insight. Are these books cleaned and pressed beforehand?
@futurepastvintagecollectables6 ай бұрын
It depends. I try to quick press every book I can from a customer service perspective, even if it doesn’t improve the grade. I don’t clean or press all books, and I don’t go to elaborate lengths on almost any books. I also grade every book I sell, even new books.

How do u price collections?

It depends on a lot of factors, such as condition and book popularity, but primarily using pricing tools and sales data.

In general, I don't like wasting time on claim sales when I don't know what's offered. If I'm looking for Spawn, why would I want to sit through 2 hours of Marvel books?

@michaelzborowski46837 ай бұрын
There is no way you would get 247 thumbs down. What is going on?
@futurepastvintagecollectables7 ай бұрын
That’s strange. It appears they are thumbs up. We don’t really get thumbs down, typically not even one, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
