Thanx for the info, I. Considering buying a 2009 XC90 AWD.. my very 1st car was a Volvo 240, and I learned Volvo's are reliable and built to last. Best buy for your buck if you ask me.

Bought a used 2008 XC90 at around 150k miles. Car drove normally at first but then transmission started slipping after about 2 hours of driving. Flushed the fluid and did almost everything except swapping the transmission. It wasn't the easiest car to maintain. The underplate below the engine made oil changes a pain and it would have been virtually impossible to swap the transmission without pulling the engine. I REALLY wanted to like the car, even put in a legend stereo and everything, but the faulty transmission forced me to get rid of it in just a couple months. Would never have been able to find out about the trans issue in a test drive since it only happened after extended periods of driving.

@@Kobain222 I think the problem in the turbo is the power. The gearbox doesn't like it... The 2.4 probably is more of a reliable car.

Hi I just bought a 2010 or MY11 executive Xc90 with the V8 motor, is there anything I should be looking out for with this model and motor, has heaps of torque and redlines really easy if I put my foot down hard at lights, love driving this car 👍😉

@patagualianmostly74374 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreya8329 The earlier V8's (Pre 2006, I think) had an open bearing on the rear of the central balance shaft..... This was open to water (amazingly) which collected in a recess around the bearing and caused premature failure. And it's an "Engine-out" job to replace it, as the shaft is removed from the front of the engine.....(DOH!) A later modification simply added a drain to that recess area. Even so...I shall not be using a hosepipe under the bonnet of my 2009 V8! Stay Safe.

Where do you live? Which sensor do you need? I think if you search your sensor here in Swedish second market it will be less expensive. www.bildelsbasen.se/

I got rid of both cars I had XC70, and XC90. The XC 90 started with some brake sensor that is attached to the master cylinder, and then another computer sensor that was failing which made all the instrument lights not work. Could not tell how fast I was going or how much gas I had . The sensor attached to the master cylinder was around $1500.00 I think, but the time the second one went bad I did not want to do it (it was going to be around $2500) . Engine or trans never failed. Loved the way it drove, comfortable, safe vehicle.

I have four Volvo’s also and love them all. They are all 2006 2.5T and three are XC90 and one is a V70 and two of the XC90’s are 7 passengers. I’ve had to do some maintenance work on all of them at around 100,000 miles. They run great, get generally good gas mileage and they aren’t bad on tires which are high mileage Brand. And for the fun of it I threw in a 1996 BMW 3 coupe which is a fun car when it’s running.

Everything else is true but the fuel economy is not that great😂
@Hairybarryy5 жыл бұрын
@@Antilaakeri my xc70 averages 25 mpg. My friends 2017 chevy cruze gets 29 mpg and friends 2018 Corolla gets an average of 30 mpg. Not only does my car weigh more it has a bigger turbo charged engine, AWD and I don't have car payments on it in turn I save money on insurance too. I drive about 50 miles a day 5 days a week. So it comes down to one of 2 things: go and finance a Toyota prius and get an average 45 mpg spend $120 a month on gas then pay for the full coveage insurance + car payment and taxes you looking at close to $650 a month. Compared to my Xc70 where I have no monthly payment and pay 19 a month for insurance. With gas and insurance I spend about $230 a month and that's it. So in reality yes I don't get the greatest gas mileage but the amount of money I save from not financing a fuel saving car saving me a lot in money. I can use that money towards other things like buying more Volvos😂😂😂
