My Mom had a 77 Buick two door Limited with the olds 403. They bought it at five years old and 25000 miles. Drove it for close to twenty years then sold it to the neighbor. It was 99% small town short trips. However, my Dad religiously changed the oil and filter and greased it every six months. It still ran smooth and strong. The only thing wrong with that car was the velour interior that absorbed 300,000 Pall Mall unfiltered cigarettes by both my Mom and Dad. I think you got a good one there.

I had a 78 Electra Limited 2 door with the Buick 350. Drive it 3½ years. It was only 10 years old when the rust was so bad the car sank in the middle. I sold it for scrap and got paid a whole $10 for it.
@jeffsmith8462 ай бұрын
@@michaeltutty1540 What a shame. My parents lived in southern Oklahoma so rust was never an issues. Cars there will stay on the road until they get beyond mechanical repair.

Some real bargains there, I'd have personally been most interested in the two Pontiacs and/or the Belair hardtop. But the white LeSabre is about as much fun as you can possibly have for less than 350 bucks. Wouldn't take much to make a nice clean daily driver out of that.

The 68 Tornado quarter panel you used as the wallpaper for this video got my attention and won you a sub. Mom bought a dark blue 67 with white interior back in 73 when I was a kid and I've loved 'em ever since. I've always found the fender flares, tail panel and popup headlights too cool for words. I would have bought all three of those '67s in the backyard to piece one back together. BTW: Leno's 66 that he had converted to rear wheel drive is wild, I have the C&D magazine article.

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by the channel! These Toros have a purity of design that definitely lands them a secure spot in the canon of timeless automotive design. I had a Silver and black 67 Toranado, and this video was a real nostalgia trip for me. I owned a lot of cars in my life, and the Toranado was one of the best cars I had. I kept it for close to 10 years, and with the exception of having to fix an internal leak on the quadrajet, the car ran flawlessly. It was the ideal highway car.

@mr.goodpliers69882 ай бұрын
Aquatred was widely marketed here but I personally never saw a set on a car even once. While it didn't perform any worse on wet pavement than conventional tread designs, I don't think it actually had any real advantage over an all-season tire. It would have probably been worse on mud and snow, and unable to truly prevent hydroplaning on wet roads. Another great idea in a test lab that looked neat in the commercials but failed to land in the consumer market

The Northstar V8 has gotten a bit of a bad reputation. I had one in a 2008 Cadillac STS, a brother in law had one in a Buick and a neighbor had one in a Buick. None of us had any problems at all, except for an annoying oil seep on mine. They will get out and run, mine was electronically governed at 154 mph, but I never tried to get anywhere close to that.
