For £25 you got a real bargain with the lenses and even the VC-700 vertical grip! I had a Minolta 700si back in the early 2000s and I still have one in 2023. An amazingly advanced semi-pro camera for its time and it's still pretty damned good when put up against today's digital marvels. Pretty much impossible to get a poorly exposed or out of focus shot, unless you are really clumsy! Sadly, on a a lot of them, the grip plastic cracked, decomposed and became a sticky mess. However, that's not too difficuly to replace with alternative material if you are fairly handy with a modelling knife/scalpel. A great selection of lenses available too, especially with the Sony A mount ones, most of which work great on the 700si.

I bought one of these new for 900 aud in 1994 duty free, it was at the time camera of the year from various publications but I couldn’t afford decent lenses I recently bought the Japanese Dynax 7 labelled Alpha 7 as I wanted to go back to the mystery of seeing how the shots turn out and the artistry of setting up the shot without the easy way of just taking multiple shots

How did you find the Dynax 7? Did you like it?

That's a steal at £25 you would pay that on ebay for the grip on it's own. I've a couple of them and there a great camera especially when you get them at the right price. I also have 2 dynax 7's both with grips and paid well under £100 for both of them.

Dynax 7 seems like a fairly popular camera. I assume as you have two of them you’re a fan?

@@vintageadventures2969 when you're getting them as cheap as I got them why not. I'll get round to putting a couple of rolls of film through them and then keep the best and sell the other one with the grip and a lens and hopefully make £150 on it 😁. In fact I've about 30 cameras, mostly Nikon's, Minolta's and a mixture of other 35mm slr's and another dozen or so medium format folding cameras from the 40's and 50's all in the process of cleaning up, replacing the light seals then film testing before they go on sale. And if I make an average of £60 -£100 per camera over the next year or so I'll be happy because that will pay for my own collection and with the resurgencein in film the new owners will have great but still very affordable cameras. My own collection is restored but mostly mint or close to and fully working condition of Nikon's, Minolta's slr's, Zeiss, Voigtlander's, Agfa and Kodak medium format folders. Not forgetting a mint Canon A1, and a mint Olympus OM10. And of course a ton of lenses.
