As a first time guitar buyer, I did exactly what you said in your video, and only later after being frustrated did I do more research on purchasing a guitar (size, sound, components, etc) This is a great informative video to help newbies as far as what they should consider when buying.

Great Video and content. We always recommend the NYLON Strung classical guitar for beginners. Softer on the fingers and easier to build the strength to get past the "pain barrier" for the initial coming months.

You said that it's important to make sure guitar fits person, and yet you never specifically said what to look for. I went to local store and they just said that guitars have couple sizes but classical guitar has 2" neck and all of them are the same beside that. So what makes guitar confirmable and what makes guitar uncomfortable?

Yeah I think I need a guitar with a wider neck, 51mm or so. I'm trying to play my brother's really old guitar that he had as a kid and it is quiet difficult, I have fairly large hands which doesn't help, the neck width on this old guitar is 43mm (at the nut). Great video, Thanks old mate!

I agree with your your statement on the 80% being the player's ability. My best guitars have always been under the $200 range. Some with and some without high name brands. Too many people have fallen for expensive guitars because they see famous musicians endorsing them. (which by the way get paid to do that, and some still don't care much for the brands they use). Gibson maybe more expensive than Epiphone (their sister company), but there are too many complaints about the Gibson Les Paul's headstock not being durable and causing the strings to go out of tune due to the exaggerated angle. That's why musicians who play Les Paul, usually have both.I like a guitar that if it does fall over, I don't have to buy a new one. Especially for $6000. However, the acoustic you are talking about is a dreadnought acoustic. As for variations and string numbers there are probably too many to mention. Some say that the main steel strung guitars are Dreadnought, Parlor, Jumbo, Dreadnought Variants, Auditorium, Grand Auditorium, and Classical. As for the acoustic bass, although it is a bass guitar, wouldn't it be more related to the upright bass? Also, aren't Spanish guitars the originals, with the western guitars being their variations?

I prefer classical even though I play a variation of what would be classified as indie folk. It goes better with the way I use my voice, and I like the way the sound changes when you move through the instruments dynamic spectre a whole lot more. In short I'm more inspired by nylon string string classical guitar than any other instrument I can play in my current appartment(I make songs for about 12 hours a day and got a sound sensitive unemployed neighbour, so I can't experiment with feedback and loud analog distortion though I'd really like to)

Your right people that give up buy the wrong guitar that requires you to go threw hours of learning just to be able to play one tune ..if these people only new they can play a great sounding tune within 5 minutes or less...👉buy a cigar box guitar 👍there in open tuning.. and jam out on day one 😎🎼👍 and remember a 6 string is 3 strings to minnie 🤔

***** It's an Antonio Hermosa with a half width body. AHT-10CE. I have it tuned to "D" down one full step. I can get it to sound different ways because of built in pickup and eq., and could probably get even more versatile effects with a higher quality amp than the 9v. Amp I have now. The reason why I would recommend it, or something comparable is because I can now play any chord cleanly, and transitions, slides, etc., come much more smoothly enabling me to not only learn faster, but to explore more of my own musical ideas, rather than just spending hours and hours struggling with rudimentary technique.
