Awe yes the classic French ingredient of cookie butter
@novas29057 жыл бұрын
collin corbean I know right, I was thoroughly confused when I saw that, they are usually made with pastry cream and chocolate on top and I thought they would do that... But nooo, cookie butter, the obvious choice?!?

collin corbean they may be twists of traditionally eaten desserts, but idk. That did seem weird

I'm french and I can tell you that you're right... the most popular version of "éclair" is definitely with chocolate on top and pasty cream inside :/ I had almost never seen a "éclair" like this (with cookie butter) I'm sorry in advanced for the errors ^^'

And they never do anything from Russia or any Eastern European country, even though like 90% of all Western European recipes are based on some Eastern European or Mediterranean recipe from a long-ass time ago. I'm guessing that Tasty bases their recipes off of 1) what's available in Walmart, 2) what other channels have recently done so that they can rip them off, and 3) whatever is politically friendly and well-represented in media (so that former Cold War enemies and countries that aren't discussed much are simply ignored).

Strudel is Austrian, Hungarian or Czechoslovakian (technically Habsburgian), not german.
@kennikitty7 жыл бұрын
You expect americans to know the difference between an austrian and a german dish? Usually in these types of videos: if it sounds german, it's german. Austria has so many awesome desserts. For a german dessert, they should've gone for either black forest cake or bavarian creme or red fruit jelly with vanilla sauce or something like that. Bavarian creme is god tier, though. Once you eat, you'll never stop. NEVER!
@SaheeliRai7 жыл бұрын
+Krampus If you want to be this precise: 'Strudel is related to the Ottoman Empire's pastry baklava, and came to Austria via Turkish to Hungarian and then Hungarian to Austrian cuisine.
