As an American I enjoy seeing neighbors trying, and loving how their rivals/frenemies preparing very similar dishes. I like seeing countries throw down like Argentinians and Peruvians or Chileans actually have so much in common, or are turned onto new interpretations. Here, with our lovely Somali guests, perhaps a Kenyan cross-over?

Safia is a sweetheart MashaAllah! Loved how fair and kind she was, and her bariis looks delicious! My mom makes hers with veggies as well so I liked that she put it in. Khadra's iskukaris doesn't seem authentic to me though, if you are cooking the rice separately and then adding it back in, then is it really iskukaris? The whole point of iskukaris is that it is a one pot meal. Also, I thought Khadra was being a bit dramatic spitting out Sarah's food but she was entertaining to watch! However, I would also love a recipe, if Safia says its good, I believe her! Khadra please post the recipe! And Ayan I think if you had added pieces of meat or chicken it would have been better but I enjoyed your commentary as well! All in all, really enjoyed watching this and now I want some bariis iskukaris 😂
