this is not culture appropriating at all, like they are just trying out our culture, and enjoying it and thats a good thing. we want our culture to be shared and to be known. there are a lot of traditions that we have, and its nice that people are being educated about it, because when that happens people respect them and know what they're about. thats a thing that not many people understand, some cultures like to be shared, so that the world knows more about it and so it can grow. take this from a cuban person herself. this video is great, and they look like they are having a good time and enjoying the cuban culture.
@andyj.rodriguez66157 жыл бұрын
See what they are doing right is, they are giving credit to the cubans. They are enjoying the culture, not taking it, and as a Cuban i feel so happy watching this, espically when they were underestimating the power of a cafecito. god damn those things have so much cafeine, no wonder normal coffee doesnt wake me up anymore
@emileewebb56037 жыл бұрын
Honestly anyone who thinks anything is being appropriated probably isn't even from the culture. There are so many incredible things in the world, so many beautiful people with their own unique style of living and it's a magical thing to be able to share that with one another. Culture and the appreciation for it spreads across continents and it brings people together. In many developed countries you see people of all colors bring their cultures and traditions together to create a working society with the best parts of all of us. I refuse to believe that something like that could ever be bad or disgraceful.
@yellowflower72447 жыл бұрын
+ANDY J. RODRIGUEZ. I also enjoyed the video. I'm a puertorican sister here and I love how we share many things in both our cultures so is nice to see other people experiencing and enjoying them too. and cafecitos are truly no joke son para levantar un muerto XD.
@geministargazer98307 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure cultural appropriation is more about taking it and using it to make money, etc or not respecting the culture
@broederdavid62857 жыл бұрын
That's what the definition is, but to social justice warriors the definition means nothing. They're already appropriating by just wearing the clothes.

Cubans and venezuelans both love to play domino, we just can't help doing it with a nice beer can beside us haha. And actually, after watching this video i realize how much similiar both countries are in terms of hobbies and overall culture
Once I ended up making out with a guy because he was using his guayabera pockets as beer holders. And I'm ok with that only making sense to me, tbh.

Hialeah was rated the least diverse city in the country bc it is only Cubans. Literally that is where you see the most of Cuban Culture. Miami has little haiti too and other places (I live more inland and know less of downtown miami)

My Spanish teacher was wearing a guayaberas today and told us exactly what this man said. What a coincidence! And I just bought ingredients to make guava and cheese pastries! I used to have them all the time when I lived in New York and I found a recipe to make them at home :) Also, I used to play dominoes all the time with my grandpa 😭 although he was Italian and not Cuban, that man played dominoes with a passion :)
@lerinn27837 жыл бұрын
I wish I had a Spanish teacher as awesome as yours. I'm not Latina in any way, so I wouldn't know anything else, but my Spanish teacher is an old white lady who I doubt knows how to actual speak Spanish...

@Jujutear917 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Garcia If your looking at just the hispanic groups, yes cubans do take up the largest chunk. However, there are so many other cultures tied to miami from all over the carribean and central and south america (especislly if we are talking abiut the county as a whole). There are even large jewish and eastern european communities that populate certain parts of miami.
@kelzthom80537 жыл бұрын
