Elizabeth Perez I won't deny it, when he said that, I spoke out loud whilst watching the video and softly said 'it's ok to say IS her name Zach'. When in my job I sadly saw death and loss, it's hard as of course that person is gone, but I always encouraged those grieving to use present words. They may not be physically present, but the memory and emotional connection people hold is forever. And when Zach said that, I felt his loss, but wanted to hug him and say she's still present, because she is in his mind always. ❤️

Since his family lived through the war and it's been kept secret for generations, I would say it is very likely a grandmother on his mom's side was raped by soldiers and his mom was the product of that. If you watch the video when they get ancestry DNA tests, Eugene gets really surprised that he has large amounts of Japanese and Chinese DNA. It's not talked about amongst many families because it was a really dark time but it was quite commonplace. I'm Chinese btw and the same thing happened to us.
