BWCA 2018 | Cherry is a Cherry! pt. 4

In September 2018, I set out with a friend on a 6 day, 40 mile loop through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness via the Moose Lake (EP25) entry point, not yet satisfied with my taste of the wilderness for the year. More than anything, I wanted to reach a lake I had read much about and dearly wanted to see with my own eyes: Cherry Lake. We ventured down the long stretch of Knife Lake toward Cherry, seeking crisp weather, solitude, and star-filled skies. This is a video series documenting that journey!
In this episode, we rest again on Cherry and lounge around before going fishing to also check out the famous Cherry cliffs! A glass calm morning turns into a breezy day but we still enjoyed ourselves!

You and I prep the same. Go big and far day 1 and coast the rest of the way. Try and make you last day quick and enjoyable. I have the same hammock and life jacket. Nice job with naration and camera. Loved the cricket scene. How did you feel for the opening credit the next morning???lol. I want to do a fall trip bad.

Haha, glad you liked the cricket! I was a little groggy the next morning, not gonna lie... but we push on. Yeah, a hard first day and easy last day is the way to go. Sometimes not easy to convince people to keep pushing on the first day when you've had headwinds the whole time, but it really pays off when you do.

I enjoy watching your videos in preparation for my first BWCA trip in august. How many 450g MSR gas containers did you take for 6 days? thank you

Glad you're liking them!! We planned on cooking everything on the gas stove (not relying on firewood) so I believe we brought 2x 16oz canisters of MSR isobutane. I think 1 would be enough even for 8 days (which is what the trip was supposed to be but we left 2 days early due to weather) but I like to bring extra just in case a canister fails/leaks/whatever. I try to follow the Boy Scout motto, many years later... "Be Prepared." :)
