In September 2018, I set out with a friend on a 6 day, 40 mile loop through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness via the Moose Lake (EP25) entry point, not yet satisfied with my taste of the wilderness for the year. More than anything, I wanted to reach a lake I had read much about and dearly wanted to see with my own eyes: Cherry Lake. We ventured down the long stretch of Knife Lake toward Cherry, seeking crisp weather, solitude, and star-filled skies. This is a video series documenting that journey!
We finally have to leave our beautiful site on Cherry and head back down Knife to stage for an early departure from the BWCA due to incoming thunderstorms. We were blessed with a mystical calm overcast day on Knife where we watched loons fish and play around for hours. It was like something from a dream. There is a little bit of this day left in the final part but I wanted to avoid making the video too long. Just one video left in this series!
Let me know any thoughts, comments, or questions! I really appreciate any feedback you have. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for the final part in the series!

What dates where you on the water? My buddy and I were there close by on Birch Lake in Sept 2018. We got hit hard, probably by the same storm.

We were in from Sept 8 thru the 13th. It was a heck of a storm, crazy how fast it passed through!

@@TechnicallyRugged We were there Sept 10-17, that was quite the storm on Birch. We had some canoes going by the campsite when it hit. We heard them calling to one another in a little distress but they made it to a nearby site safely.

@@moose7538 As you probably saw, my friend and I went fishing before it hit. We saw it far off in the distance and I figured we could squeeze 30-45 minutes of trolling and some shallow casting in. We did get some time but no fish and headed straight back once we started to see lightning closer to us (once it started to get visibly darker). Bummer about being caught in the storm while traveling... something I hope to avoid!
