BWCA - Family Fishing Trip July 2023 | Entry Point #38 Sawbill Lake | Amazing Adventure!!!

In July 2023, I took my wife and 2 sons ages 10 and 12 to one of my favorite places in the USA, the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area in Minnesota. We entered through entry point number 38 out of Sawbill Lake and rented canoes from Sawbill Outfitters really simplifies the process. I try to make it to the BWCA yearly with buddies but this was my first trip taking my family.
- We arrived at Sawbill Outfitters around 3 PM to pick up our canoes and Sawbill issued our permits.
- We stayed at Sawbill campground the first night so we could paddle early the next morning.
- We entered in Sawbill and paddled up to Cherokee Lake to camp the 2nd night.
- We decided to stay on Cherokee on another site the 3rd night.
- We had to paddle past North/South Temperance and Weird Lake as all campsites were occupied. We stayed on Jack Lake the 4th night.
- The next day we paddle through the temperance River and Kelly Lake find our 5th and final campsite on Burnt Lake.
