What a good piece of footage. my pop finished his time on the Lizzy's , Back in the day the nswgr had their own rugby league team as well and pop was playing 1st grade till he was 48 yrs old. True story.

In fact, this was not only the last, but FIRST electric loco on the Sandown Line. Hehe. The overhead was installed primarily for stabling race day trains, and for use by workers' trains (three car Y Sets, generally). As far as I can find out, no heavy electric traction was used on any train servicing businesses in the area; not even the Shell oil train was electric-hauled. :(

Before the 3 car Y sets, there were the 2 car T sets, yes "T" was used before the Tangara's. I think before them, it was the single deck B sets that could divide into 2 car sets that ran down the line.
